These look interesting. Thank you. But the lack of representation on this site is really sad. Why are 99% of articles centred around dramas from South Korea or China? What about dramas / movies from Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Philippines?
Can someone recommend more toxic romances like this?
I can think of dramas from other countries, but the only C-drama remotely similar (though different) would be:
Remembering Lichuan - similar with the relationship spanning years with lots of break ups, heartbreak, lies, miscommunication. ML is a lot nicer though and has a valid reason for treating the FL the way he did.

I think this kind of relationship can last, but it would be at the cost of draining her personality and soul. Because no matter what she does, it would never be enough for him. He will always be insecure about her friendship with other men or his need to be involved in every decision she makes (even if it has nothing to do with him).
Too many people are seeing Jing Bo Ran as Luke, rather than simply Luke the character. Look at some of the recent comments saying that it wasn't even that toxic or that she was the problem or that their relationship was damn romantic. I respect people's opinions but how can one be so blind to how problematic this was?
If you can acknowledge that this was problematic and still like it, I am fine. But to not even realise its problematic.. sigh.

It's a Taiwanese drama, not Chinese. They are 2 separate countries with separate industries. Taiwanese dramas / movies are way bolder than Chinese dramas and they don't skimp on skinship or violence.
