He wants to take her out for coffee. I am not sure which scene you refer. There is a lot of coffee
It was implied from the beginning that he was not a 'social media' guy, then also he asked his roommate if he should install the emojis in his phone, therefore, I assume that he sent it because that was the only he had in his phone, which he had previously used to invite someone for coffee. Becausevthe coffee emoji only has 2 uses in texts: referring to coffe and spilling the means/gossip.

Viki still hasn't corrected many wrong translations. The best right now are those on Kisskh although they have…
Ok, let me know about the movie. Most likely, , after the premier, there will be comments about the ending.

If you like J-dramas, I can recommend some, because they have many sweet good dramas. Let me know. If not, try…
Also, there are a few J-dramas that are very popular, famous and/or high rated, which I gave them 7 because they were just nice. BUT you may like them more than a 7, so here they are:

Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Doko Made mo (2020)
Rich Man, Poor Woman (2012)
Sequel Film = Rich Man, Poor Woman in New York (2013)
First season = Itazura na Kiss: Love in Tokyo (2013)
Second season = Itazura na Kiss: Love in Tokyo Season 2 (2014)
Shanai Marriage Honey (2020)
Rinko-san wa Shite Mitai (2021)
Jitenshaya-san no Takahashi-kun (2022)
Minami-kun no Koibito - My Little Lover (2015)
Promise Cinderella (2021)

Encounter has a happy end. Every drama that I have rated 7 and above, are all happy endings. And most 6 and 5 as well. I truly hate sad endings and avoid them to such extent, that I won't watch a film or drama, no matter how famous, oscar-winner, many awards, etc, just because it doesn't have a happy end.

The only exceptions have been when I didn't know (i.e., Cheese in the trap, Yumi's Cells, which of course I rated low). And 2 movies I was forced by my kids to watch (Titanic and the italian film Life is Beautiful)

I like the love story of Cunning Single Lady, I think I even rewatched it at some point. But the ones I listed are like romantic comfort if I'm in a drama slump. I also have several c-dramas in my group of romantic-comfort rewatch

As you said, j-dramas tend to be deep, even if it’s animation like the famous and highly awarded film My Name. Or just have different angles than productions from other countries.

I like them and actually right now I have a huge pending-to-watch-list of J-dramas LOL

For your question, by most romantic I think you mean a drama which is romance-focused, not other action, thriller, etc, is included in the plot, and that I also loved a lot?

Then that would be: Kimi no Te ga Sasayaite Iru (1997). The FL is deaf, and the drama is 5 episodes, that were aired only one each year. I was lucky, many years later, to be able to download it and keep it (I can send you the link of the episodes in my cloud drive if you want to watch it).

Another very romantic is Tatta Hitotsu no Koi (2006). Love Generation and Long Vacation as well, both starring Kimura Takuya. And one of my fave Japanese love stories is Pride 2004, but it also has parts about the ML sports career, so I’m not sure if you’ll like it (I also keep it in better quality in my drive)

For most romantic movies (I rate movies in imdb.com, not in MDL), I would say the following:

-Love For Beginners (Kyō, koi o hajimemasu) 2012
-From Me To You (Kimi ni todoke) 2010
-Say I Love You (Sukitte iinayo) 2014
-I don’t remember very well, but maybe also Honey 2018

- Go to my completed:
https://mydramalist.com/dramalist/chismg10/completed
- Click the title of the column "Country" until the first line shows "Japan"
- Then click "Score" until the 10s appear
- Then click again "Country" until Japan appears
-That will give you the j-dramas listed by my rating.
- Check those that I have rated from 9.5 to 8. Anything lower than 8, I will not rewatch and therefore will not recommend.

Then forget 'sweet" j-dramas, which are always PG and slow burn. But they have "not-sweet" dramas with real passionate kisses, like Pride, Love Generation, I need to remember others. Taiwan also usually have real passionate kisses and early on.
Meeting You is a c-drama and I don't remember the kiss-timeline. The Love Equations is also c-drama, sweet and slow burn.

I do have favorite k-dramas and I rewatch a few of my faves when I need a ‘romantic-comfort-time’, with some comedy, or some action, or just pure romance:
One Spring Night 2019 – What’s wrong with secretary Kim 2018 – The greatest love 2011 – My love from the star 2018 – Encounter 2018 – Go Back Couple 2017 – Healer 2014 – Goblin 2016 – I have a lover 2015 (this one didn't age well, it's like a soap opera, but I love the love story of the main leads)

It will be easier for you than for me, to formally start studying Mandarin. I think it's worthy, given that there have been increasingly better c-dramas than k-dramas =Note to k-drama addicts = Please don't hate me, it's been MY recent experience LOL

In what country is Hel and Hersin? I tried Google. Hersin in FRANCE and Hel in POLAND? My friends also ask me…
At the end of her article about Snooker (in recent discussions above) Frost_edelweiss said that the names are fictitious (it seems there's a rule for modern chinese dramas that places shouldn't be easily mistaken by real ones even if the script is realistic)

Did he pull her violently or was he gentle ?
The ML is actually one of the gentlest, but at the same time one of the manliest ML I've seen in a while. Quiet, but so manly.

Yes, that's one of them, the context was to convey that the ML was making it clear that he was very serious about the relationship.
In ep 9, she sends him a voice note asking him 2 questions: 'Do you have a girlfriend?' Or someone in between?' The second meant if he was 'seeing' someone while he pursues her, but Viki translated it as "Or is it better to be here or not? ' (???)
In ep 13, the advise the ML gave to the other guy in the pool area was also sloppily translated by Viki (thankfully I had already seen that ep in Kisskh).
The latest I learned about is at minute 12.10 in ep 14: the FL says to her roommate 'I need to be better than him", but actually she said: 'I need to stay being the King", conveying different intentions (which I'll find out later as I keep on watching).
Also, sometimes Viki subs are just literal-machine-translated, like when they write 'Be good' but the ML really meant 'Take care' which has a different objective, and so on.
BUT comments are very distracting and I would only recommend turning them on after first watching an episode. For now I rather continue with Kisskh or Tencent, although as I said, they also have omissions.
IMO Viki subs are only good for k-dramas, and only for English subs (they have k-dramas with a lot of errors in spanish and french that they have never corrected), but the subbers are volunteers and no matter the quality of their work, I sincerely thank them!

In you rewatch in Viki with the comments 'on', native speakers will highlight the errors or omissions. For me, 2 were important for the plot context in key scenes in ep 9 and 13, therefore I will re-check any strange or ambiguous subs in Kisskh until I finish this drama.

On Amidst a Snowstorm of Love Feb 20, 2024
This is one of the very few dramas where I have truly felt like a third wheel. It has the best chemistry I've watched in the last 2 years, and in my opinion also the highest chemistry that Leo Wu has ever had with other FL in his previous dramas. I'm sooooo in love with the acting and chemistry of the main leads, that after I reached ep 13, I started rewatching from the beginning to savor it again, which has happened to me very few times (the last time I did such a mid-drama rewatching was with Love Between Fairy and Devil)
I don't want it to end. I'm watching it as slow as I can. I don't want to go back to my slump-list where I have 'on hold' most of the recent high-rated and overhyped dramas in MDL that have failed to keep engaging my interest, and where I include some I forced myself to finish hoping they would get better but never did.
