[MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS UP UNTIL EP.33]Man, I srsly dont get why there are ppl liking the 2nd leads when its sooo…
You're right! I agree with most of what you said. I personally kinda wished that Yuanqing was killed by Changyu instead bc at least Changyu would be getting her revenge with her own hands for what he did in the Lin'an town (tho I kinda can see why it's better the way they kept it with Qimin bc it's like a betrayal before death - most painful. And I know he'd be much happier if it was Changyu). But it was also sad to me that Qimin is the one that killed Yuanqing bc after all, that is what Qimin always wanted to do. I felt sad he never loved Yuanqing at all bc even during their hug, Yuanqing was genuine but Qimin was not (was smiling evilly). And honestly tho, the fact that Yuanqing decided to decapitate himself to repay for all the wrong he did? Imagine if it was Changyu that did try killing him for revenge, but in the end, he kills himself in front of her to show that side of him (repaying for what he did) while also giving the tiger tally to her... But anyways, I did like the scene with him and Shisan Niang tho but it was def sad for me bc at least he did really love his family and cared for the people who stuck by his side. I know Qimin's death will definitely not make me sad one bit... not once did I like his character. Kudos to Deng Kai for acting him out so well bc I just hated him throughout the whole drama LOL don't think I've hated a character as much as I did with Qimin
So I have a rant about the Sui brothers esp Qimin... anyways, if you didn't watch Ep.33, refrain from reading…
[MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS UP UNTIL EP.33]
Man, I srsly dont get why there are ppl liking the 2nd leads when its sooo toxic, I hate Qimin to the core! Theres not even a little good inside of him! Like not one bit! The way he treats Qianqian (I have to say his toxic love for her is like that of a sasaeng... they just wanna be near the one they say they love (it's not even love, it's obsession and being possessive and wanting to own them) and see them and do things with and to them just to get their attention no matter how much that person suffers), the way wants to kill his own son, kills anyone who makes a small mistake, killed Yuanqing's mother who raised him for 10 years and Yuanqing who was the only person who truly loved him (just bc he was jealous and blamed everything that happened to him on them when it wasn't even their fault), lying about his identity to Yuanqing and betraying him when Yuanqing literally considered him as his brother). The look on Yuanqing's eyes when the one he trusted most stabbed here right there really broke me! He did not deserve to die in his hands! πππ Like the way Yuanqing hesitated to kill him when he had the chance (to get hia revenge) bc he really saw him as his own brother but got killed by him in the end is truly heartbreaking!!! He didn't expect this but he saw Qimin's truest colors he's faked for many years in his last moments and it's got to be one of the worst last moments you could ever ask for. Everything Qimin does has the wrong reasonings (driven by jealously and I guess his past(?) which I don't believe is convincing enough to make him like this oh well). He doesn't even try to understand what is right and wrong and doesnt even regret anything he has done no matter how bad it was. Yuanqing literally spoke facts about him before he died. He tries to look righteous when he is not bc of all the things he did. Like he thinks everything he does is righteous bc he is getting revenge on ppl who didn't even have anything to do with what happened in the past???? Just bc they were part of the Sui family??? Man, that's just so wrong! Like I can't believe I'd agree with Yuanqing for once (Tbh I don't completely hate Yuanqing like I do with Qimin - might be do to his great physco evil laugh acting which I find crazy but insane and cool lol but also he has a little good in him - even just a little good in his heart is better than nothing like Qimin). Qimin cares for not a single person. I never cared for him and I was so glad he didn't get that much screentime cuz whenever I saw him on screen, I'd get so annoyed and roll my eyes LMAO. I feel bad cuz I love the actor (loved him as Kongyun and Wei Jiu), like he did amazing in this Qimin role bc he did a very good job on making me hate him so much but his character just isn't it for me. His backstory isn't convincing enough for me to believe he'd become this horrible growing up esp since he was raised by the Suis! It's weird cuz unlike Qimin, despite Yuanqing being so psycho, I always looked forward to Yuanqing's scenes. Like even tho he is bad and has no redeeming qualities, I still found him interesting to watch? Idk what it is but that evil laugh is crazy insane just seeing it lol. It might be the character and acting for me (maybe I prefer less serious villains like him cuz his evil laugh is pretty attractive, ain't it - unlike Qimin who is serious all the time) π Anyways thats such a huge rant. This is my personal opinion! Don't come at me if your opinions differ! Both actors did amazing and it was the first time seeing Lin Muran so I was immediately impressed by him as soon as he appeared in Ep.16. Tbh a character I won't forget bc of how perfectly he was portrayed by the actor himself π₯ Looking forward to more of his works β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

I'm not gonna forget when Ep.19 of Pursuit of Jade came out and I was utterly IMPRESSED with his acting! And as curious as I was, I decided to look him up on MDL and I could NOT believe he was born in 2005, 3 years younger than me?????? I can't believe it π And he's already this crazy talented! I mean, to think he debuted in 2007 when he was just a baby and acted since then really shows his experience as an actor as Sui Yuanqing. Tbh, I'm supposed to hate this type of character, but the way he acts out his character as a physco just impresses me a lot that I can't completely hate him. I think it's his crazy good acting that just makes me have this love-hate relationship with his character. Like he is soooo good at it! He really immerses in his role sooo perfectly. He isn't acting the character. HE IS THE CHARACTER! I am looking forward to more of his works in the future! And as I was already looking forward to Mo Li for a while now, know that I am even moreee excited bc of Lin Muran! I can't wait!!!! Thank you for sharing us your talent, Lin Muran π₯Ή Rare to see an actor like this who embodies their role like they ARE them without being scared to do so. Gosh, I love him!!!!
how is it yearning, he tortures her and plans to kill her kid
Ikrrr this is sick! I still see ppl shipping them and idek why and how they do. Its soooo toxic and shes basically being sexually harassed and he is doing things that hurt her. Idk how one can call this a couple and a shippable one at that. It disgusts me whenever I see ppl liking them π I could never!
It's really unfortunate that they didn't decide to add more than 40 eps bc the last ones have been feeling very rushed :( Like the FL, though strong and talented in martial arts, still has some flaws that it's weird tbh to see her being the only one who can defeat the enemy... while there's Xie Zheng who has a lot more experience than her as he's been fighting in the military much longer (and ofc many others like his men). It's like they are telling us that Changyu is stronger than Xie Zheng in terms of fighting when it's not supposed to be like that. Like we didn't get to see her actually train. They only showed flashbacks of what she got taught but they never showed us that she practiced them. They're like showing us as if she learns just by hearing it in mere minutes. I even heard in the novel that Changyu, while fighting Prince Changxin, got injured, and Xie Zheng ends up being the one that actually kills him. He Jingyuan was also not supposed to die in this battle and was saved by Changyu. It shouldn't have been that she was too late to save him cuz the novel was different! Why did the writers decide change this in the drama??? Did they not think how their version is worse??? It feels so rushed that these deaths happen in the same battle esp after all these years they've been fighting? I also didn't like how they did Mandi's death. It was truly disappointing. I mean, right before it, wasn't Changyu just fighting Yuanqing? How come it's like they stopped fighting, he ends up fighting her two men (Manwu and Mandi), and the FL doesn't even see it happening as she's focused on fighting other guys? Like I don't get that. Why did she only see it happen as soon as Yuanqing stabbed Mandi to his death? Very disappointing. Like tbh, I'm watching this thinking that I can't believe we only have 10 eps left and I feel like there's still so much to cover. It doesn't feel like it's ending soon but oh well. It's rare to find dramas that end very satisfactory but when I find one, I get so happy. Especially those that get even better during the last 10 eps or so (or second half of the drama). Oh well. Still enjoy this drama but it's not easy to not point out the flaws that does impact the drama
Also what is up with Xie Zheng's top priority supposed to be revenge on his father. I got none of that in the drama so knowing this really disappoints me. In the novel, he becomes dark bc of this... it really traumatized him. I don't even remember who Xie Zheng's father is kjhkfdskjfd like did they even talk about him at all and just forgot bc he was barely ever focused on or was he just not shown at all??? Edit: Oh yeah, he was shown hung up on the wall in yesterday's ep but is that all...?
I think save this drama for when you have a lot of time to give, but if dark and intense is not for you then maybe…
That's understandable. I do agree Bai Lu's acting could be better and wish we could see more diversity in them in her characters. But I tend to watch a lot of different dramas with various actors so there is a lot of choices. But since you're not in the mood, no need to force yourself to watch it.
I think save this drama for when you have a lot of time to give, but if dark and intense is not for you then maybe…
Ngl, when I was getting into historical CDramas (since almost 2 years ago) and saw those forced kissing clips, I even refused to watch it. But then, I'm like... "Hmm... maybe I'll give it a try bc Wang Xingyue and Bai Lu will have their Unveil Jadewind released." I gave it a try and it's sooo good! I really enjoyed watching it. The romance was barely in the show tbh. It was like only after Ep.30... and tbh, I thought I would hate Xie Wei SO MUCH MORE than I did (I don't hate him tbh but I'd never choose him as a partner lmao) but he wasn't really that dislikeable. I would say he is a red flag in terms of being in a relationship but as a character, he is interesting and fleshed out and you'll feel for him through his backstory. I remember thinking I'd never watch this ever bc of the romance, but the romance was barely there. I didn't even ship the leads XD! I was in for the plot, not the romance. That's for sure. I hope you can give it a try! The comedy was also fun to watch, too! And I loved the relationship between the characters. If you ask me tho, I'd choose Yanlin (3ML) any day! But I gotta say, FL doesn't deserve him LOL
I honestly did not drop it for the main leads. They had great chemistry and I liked the way they were written.…
Right! The last few episodes were getting on my nerves a lot. Idk but very frustrating as I watched them. Like the point of this drama is to say all these who commit the bad is doing it to avenge Cai Pingshu... I don't like that reasoning at all bc Pingshu would not want this. I feel so bad for Pingshu bc imagine all this was caused by her when all she wants is a peaceful world? And I agree about ML being red flag. I'd never get with a guy like him bc he used her a lot and faked things just to get close to her.
Also yeah, it's so weird how Cai Zhao caught on the ML so easily yet for others, she couldn't? Not even the master??? I mean, to say she didn't believe it cuz she didn't want to admit it... I get it but it's frustrating. He's done a lot of bad things while Qingyan is not the evil that the Master is yet she can believe and admit the schemes he did.
Yes, the last fight was so ridiculous. I mean, all that blood... all those hits, getting hit hard from corner to corner... you'd legit be crippled by now. Their bones would be broken. It's so unrealistic to see them still be able to stand after all that when they'd be so crippled. Oh well
Edit: so sad they're guest roles tho huhu but looking forward to their scenes!
