What frustrates me the most is that all this mess and all this blood and killing is to get revenge on Pingshu... that being their main reasoning to commit all these bad things does not sit right to me. And it's very frustrating and annoying that EVERYONE and I mean just EVERYONE likes Cai Pingshu like wth??? I know she is such a powerful, beautiful, determined, and strong woman but why everyone???? Every boy from this past generation??? You're telling me they did this all for her???? At the end of the day, they only wanted to do it bc they thought no one remembered her and what she did and that she didn't deserve that. Pingshu would never allow this to happen. They completely forgot what is truly in Pingshu's heart. They completely deviated from the righteousness she sought. How disappointing. It really was disappointing to just watch them reveal the true man in black especially bc we all figured it out long ago. It was right there yet they made us keep guessing... I was hoping maybe there would be a plottwist to keep the story engaging but nope. Oh well... tbh Idk what to rate this. When I think of the overall story and how it was executed, not sure anymore... I have to admit I was enjoying it for the most part but the overall story is very messy and funky and the ending (the last episodes) did make me question what I just watched. I also thought I was gonna like the leads' chemistry a lot more than I did. Their relationship going back-and-fourth was very messy and confusing.
I'm trying soooo hard to not watch episode 24 so I can binge 2+ more at once but all my social media is saturated…
I also wish I could be good at this but me seeing stuff on my timeline on twitter that I haven't seen just makes me have more of the desire to watch cuz I hate spoilers! 🫠
To think we still have 15 days left for this drama to finish and 17 episodes... so it's like 1 ep a day whyyyy 😭😭😩😩 The way I am so much more invested in this drama that I expected to be before it came out like ahhhh, it's soooo good!!!!!
I enjoyed this drama a lot when I started it but the more I watch lately, the more I become disappointed. I was like, "I swear if the Master is REALLY the man in black and they don't figure it out until later...." it's so disappointing bc the amount of times Qingyan mentioned this but Cai Zhao just didn't believe it and it ends up to be true? Why did it have to take so long for them to fully figure it out? I hate that it took the entirety of the drama to reveal the man in black when we all already had it figured out soooo long ago like... it's sooo disappointing. I just watched Ep.34, and watching it made me feel worse bc the Master's reasoning for this is to avenge Cai Pingshu yet she would NOT want this AT ALL. Is he THAT obsessed?????? Yet he doesn't even know what Pingshu would truly want GOODNESS! He is making the decision for her when in reality it's only what his heart wants. And how he wants to kill his own daughter just to successfully cultivate the Ziwei method???? MAN, he is rlly led astray just bc of this obsession.
I also didn't like the back-and-forth with the relationship of the leads. I thought I was gonna love the leads' relationship a lot more than I did, but the more I watched it, the more I got bored bc even after 34 episodes, they're still not officially together. And idk if it's just me, but there are times that I don't even root for the leads bc of how tired I got...??? Also, idk how the ML is gonna survive after getting poisoned, practicing the Ziwei method, and poisoning himself again just to be with the FL longer.... like that itself is disappointing. But I will say, Zhou Yiran really did carry the show with his acting. He was INCREDIBLE! I just will say I was disappointed in his character at times bc of the decisions he makes although it's understandable. But the FL was more disappointing.... their relationship really was one of the most confusing ones if not the most confusing one I've ever watched but I'm just gonna have to deal with it.
The story could've been much more interesting that it is. Why is the past generation so much more interesting than this???? They could've at least given us a drama with the past generation bc their story really makes me sooo invested! I rlly hope they do decide to make a drama of its own bc many of us want it and prefer it more and would look so forward to it. I just hope I forget a lot of things mentioned here tho LMAO, I just know it's gonna be such a sad ending unfortunately but I still wanna watch it cuz the story is rlly interesting.
Man, still can't believe Lin Muran (the guy who plays Sui Yuanqing) is younger than me by 3 years 😭 He is 20, but 19 when he filmed this. His acting is just crazyyyy insane and full of talent right there!!!! I am srsly looking forward to Mo Li even more bc of him!!!! Looking forward to seeing more of his acting!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

He's more of a supporting character in all of them but not so small. Pretty good amount of screentime. I forget about TBOY cuz I watched that LONG ago but his screentime isn't so bad. I never watched him as a main role so I don't have much to say about those dramas since I've never watched them. But his characters Wei Jiu and Kongyun are my favorites! He also uses his own voice in TWD which is nice!

I didn’t think this drama would be so good to watch. The cinematography deserves an award, actors are so gorgeous…
Bc the one that filmed it was originally He Changxi but they used a different actor for the face which is why Zhu Zanjin is shown as the face for it and the reason I believe is bc he is in a BL drama (like why China...)
Edit: now that I think about, other guy is in The Untamed so thats confusing but maybe cuz Changxi is the ML in the BL I'm guessing

Someone talked about how she speaks and does this as a modern person like that's why she's so good at business and such.... this is crazyyyy!!!! I wish I didn't find out until it showed in the drama but oh well... but wow I didn't notice this at all, wahhhh first time its not the main character as a transmigrator/time traveler

Yeah true. I think it would've been nice if we got to see each character's story but unfortunately it seems like they rush it in the end. Would've been nice if there was room to see how Haoan and Xiaolan meet and get together ☹️ I rlly would've shipped them hard if so!
