People who complain about Mu Qingyan's character need to remember that he is the leader of evil sect and he will continue to be the leader that is why it is natural for him to act ruthlessly. Moreover his upbringing also contribute to his character. He will be slightly better in the future with Zhao Zhao's influence in his future life and also when he finally becomes a father himself but he still has his vicious trait. I find it is interesting to have a red-green flag character like Mu Qingyan that's why I re-watch this show 5 times and read the book twice. So I recommend to people who love the show to also read the book.

Both book and show have happy endings, but the ending in the books are more cruel while in the show I can finally smile happily and singing together along with all characters that's why I prefer the show. But if you want to see Zhao Zhao and Mu Mu married life after 3 years and 10 years, you should read the book, they even have a kid who look so similar to Mu Qingyan both in their personality and temperament. Warning: Mu Qingyan in the show is kinda red green flag character but in the book he is more very red and only a little green character😅 He is more ruthless and cruel in the book version. I still love him though and love Zhou Yiran so much because I think only him that can bring the Mu Qingyan's character from the book to the screen .... Book 10/10 Series 11/10
10/10 from me, I love all characters especially Mu Qing Yan. Mu Qing Yan is a very stand out character that makes me want to dive deeper into this series. He is not typical green flag MLs you usually see in Chinese drama but a red flag. Every scene with Mu Qing yan smirks in the dark while wearing dark robes is my favourite scene (and he is also very handsome).
Finally finished this series, a 10/10 from me. I really love Yan An as Li Jie. He is so handsome. I hope I can see more series as Yan An as the main lead in the future. Best of Luck Yan An
