He’s working his way up. It takes a while before you’re commanding scripts like “You Are My Glory,” “Reset,” “Meet Yourself,” “Wild Bloom,” “Hidden Love,” “Love Like the Galaxy”—you get the idea. Hopefully, with the right team and some perseverance, he’ll get the big-budget, higher-quality scripts. Actually, I think what he’s doing now, playing the hot-and-bothered, hunky guy in these soapy minis, is pretty darn entertaining. “Forever Love (2023)” is actually one of the better ones in this genre. The acting is quite good and not too corny, despite the soapy plot (e.g., the shamelessly contrived way his shirt came off and the FL’s hands were all over his body). For them to make something so contrived and ridiculous look so smoking hot and halfway plausible, instead of silly as hell, takes some skill. And, I’m here for it, lol 😂 😆💪🏽🤩. The quality of this one actually feels like a proper bite size kdrama instead of a mere low-budget mini.

Seeing Esther’s perpetually angsty, anxious, serious face is definitely new for me because I’ve only ever seen her in bubbly comedic roles. I love this serious side. I love how she’s handling the character. Her expression is somewhat the same in every scene here, but the character is in uber-survival mode. That’s kind of all she can think about right now—her mission and coming out alive. So, the same stilted expression kinda makes sense to me.
