Similarities: Republican era. Young woman engaged to father of the ML. Sexy tension between FL/ML. Revenge agendas. Notable: Same Director who directed “Blossom” and Pursuit of Jade” and “A Familiar Stranger”
Plots are not similar at all. Only similarity is they are both set in the Republican era. Very good drama which follows the hardworking ML’s rise from a poor and humble stock clerk to the leading businessman in Shanghai . Stars Steven Zhang (Zhang Xin Cheng).
Plot sounds nearly identical—girl he loves married his father, revenge agenda, Republican era. Sizzling chemistry between the leads. Short-length drama directed by Zeng Qing Jie who also directed “Pursuit of Jade,” “Blossom,” “A Family Stranger,” “Butterflied Lover,” and “The Killer Is Also Romantic.”
Plot sounds similar —girl he loves betrays him, he becomes rough and obsessed, she has secret identity, Republican era. Short-length drama, but not a vertical drama. Fast, easy watch. EXTREMELY steamy kisses, plural. The leads are two of my favorites frequently seen in the short-length drama genre.
Plot sounds nearly identical—girl he loves married his father, revenge agenda, Republican era. Good vertical drama. Exceptional quality. Fast, easy watch. Steamy kisses—Luo Zheng, of course, IYKYK.
A former crime boss walks away from that life, but his dad won’t let him be. Dad insists that he take over the enterprise. ML reunites with his childhood sweetheart, but he hides his true identity from her. The plot sounds rough and dark, but it was actually a fluffy romcom. Kinda crazy how they mixed those opposite elements yet created a warm, delightful, and funny drama.
Both dramas have FLs who are smart, business-savvy women in the male-dominated steel industry of 1980s China. Family-friendly dramas. Both excellent.
Similar era—1980s. Both stories show the development of the leads from their humble status to business leaders.
Both ML characters were brilliant and feared M&A experts in the business world. “Falling for Innocence” had a bit more rom-com elements, whereas “The Art of Negotiation” feels very serious and may not have any romance, just some dry humor here and there perhaps.
The FL character changes into different persons (male, female, young, old) due to a certain condition she has, but the ML is able discern she is the same person even though she changes physically. He falls in love with the person that she is regardless the package she comes in.
FL also worked as a temporary wife for men in need of a temporary, contract marriage. “Love In Contract” was a comedy however. “The Trunk” seems like a dark thriller mystery.
Both dramas have lead couple in a fake contract marriage. Both dramas have a thriller vibe. Both dramas have outstanding powerhouse lead actors.
