I’m the opposite. I became his fan after “Hidden Love.” But, have I trouble enjoying the FL’s acting. She’s highly-regarded though. I know a lot of people like her. She’s quite pretty. The visuals are on point.

Ok, the neck-biting scene was pretty funny. Reminded me of “Shadow Love” just not as sensual. It’s well-known that Chen Zhe Yuan and Cheng Lei are very good friends. I can’t help but wonder if they critiqued each other’s neck-biting scenes. 😜

I don’t hate him. But, I also don’t understand him. I need more of his backstory, how he was with Haochen’s mother. He seemed like a nice normal guy with her from the one flashback we saw. When did he turn into this cunning, scary guy?

No, I’m not new, Rude Tom. Are you new here? Speaking so rudely like that, you must be. Some dramas have chemistry between the leads (even enemies-to-lovers tropes) within the first couple episodes. You can feel it right off the bat—Prisoner of Beauty, Shadow Love, Story of Kunning Palace, The Double—just to name a few examples. I am not feeling that here yet at episode 2. That’s all I am saying. I’m allowed to comment my opinions and observations as I see it.

It’s crazy violent. The way he beat her up! 😮I get it—she’s the enemy who tried to kill him, but man… Are y’all digging this? At ep 2, I’m not feeling any chemistry between the leads at all. Their tension isn’t hot to me. 🫤

I agree—He liked her from the very beginning. Even when he explained why he chose her, though he belittled her background, he also said things like “you meet my high standards,” “you look upper class but without their bad temperament,” “you’re smart—I like smart women,” “you’re pretty “—all this shows he was into her big time from the getgo.

She didn’t lie for the TV host job though. I thought she decided not to (even though the headhunter was advising her to do it) after Zhou warned her in the cafe that time they first met.

The moment they met, when she was trying to get his interview, she had not lied about her parents. I believe it was then that he viewed her as a fraud—when she lied about her background.

There must’ve been a short window, during the time they dated but before she lied about her parents, that he had really deeply fallen for her. He must’ve felt like a fool falling so hard for her only to find her lying so audaciously to him and his parents. That’s my guess anyway. You would think he’d just walk away immediately, but he’s a weirdo himself to seize the opportunity to use her and marry her! That’s wild. He’s cunning and scary on a whole different level. Also, at the core of it, he’s totally into her even though she lied. That’s the reality he can’t face.

I agree with what you said except that he never had any feelings for Fang Lei. He was just playing her to get that deal with her dad. He can’t stand her and doesn’t want her anywhere near his son. Makes me think he knows how crazy and troublesome she is.

Haoming basically admitted that he’s into Xu Yan in every way. It’s odd that he turned mean when his lie was exposed. Why turn so mean? I guess that’s just who he is. Look how mean he was to Fang Lei (even though she deserved it) and also that old guy that he fired. I think also he just feels guilty about loving a woman who isn’t Haochen’s mother. With no lies giving him a reason to pretend to love Xu Yan, he can’t/won’t allow himself to love her directly. How does he not believe that she doesn’t really love him? How could he not feel her sincerity? Then again, it’s understandable that he can’t trust her. How can you trust someone who lied so big the way she did, hiring fake parents—that’s wild 😜!

She seems too young to me. But, man, if he really slept with her, then UGHH 😩. I don’t believe it though. I think Fang Lei is the aunt. Anything’s possible though.

I wouldn’t be surprised if crazy little sis had something to do with big sis’s diving accident given how obsessed she is with Haoming. Just speculation though. I have no idea how this will play out.
