I must be crazy for not liking this the way people do 🫪 for me, the ML is insufferable where even if he is handsome, there is nothing else to him but rudeness and detachment and the FL is bland and slow. They only had physical attraction, barely any scenes of them bonding. I watched 15 eps and while the actors are good and the ost too, it wasn't it for me personally.
The drama is engaging and fun to watch, well acted and done, and the OST is impecable but my god it is hard to like these characters. She is sooo slow with everything, can't comunicate and acts so stupidly for someone her age and position. And he is a complete jerk with emotional issues, says the contrary of what he means, can't read the room at all.
I know there is a time skip but I am struggling to see them evolving into people who actually match and have a good relantionship or are people I can root for lol
This is a drama about growing up first and foremost. It was very sweet, not full of drama, just felt like a cozy enviroment with characters I cared about. I will def miss them.
I actually think it would be realistic for Duan Qi and Ting Ting not to end together, because lbr, not everyone ends with their teen crush and they do work really well as friends too!
it is not him imagining her personality but a writing choice to make the scene comical. he is overreacting or better yet, overthinking and imagining the "worst", that being her actually flirty with someone else. he is a jealous, introvert teenager. its his imagination running wild, not his actual view of her.
ML doesnt have any relationship with FL. She has one sided relationship with ML ..she thinks he is a friend. but…
this is not true at all. he sees her as a competitor? yes, because he also wants to achieve great things like she does. he explains he admires her, not envies her, and sees her as a model. he also constantly protects her and is caring towards her.
it is ok to want to be as good as your friend when you both have the same goals. he was also very honest to her about it.
update: the male lead is actually really nice and the actor is doing a good job for an introvert that is genuinely nice to people. i am enjoying it sm more after episode 8, it's so adorable.

She is also clever in the way she interacts with the court intrigues. She never loses het cool, openly takes in information and then uses it to her advantage. Also not afraid to use her position, power and violence to make a point. Yes the incense is a big part of this story, but then again it is called Blossoms of Power and she has a whole past life connection to them.
