Kenny was a great villain in TTOR because his motivations were believabe and consistent. I do love to hate a well written villain.
I'm like you and like to balance out dark and intense or super political stuff with something fluffy and/or healing. However I've told myself I'm not allowed to take on any new dramas until I've cleaned up my watchlist which is currently a disaster of partially watched dramas. Some celebrities are really good at setting boundaries that people respect. I think he is one of them.

Kenny Lin was so good in The Tale of Rose that I absolutely hated his guts.

The way they went from flirty attraction to deep and abiding love felt so natural. Totally believable as a married couple. They're really wonderful on screen together.

You respond extremely well to dog whistles from someone you consider to be your superior, without question, without thinking. I very much doubt you've never looked up an article about a celebrity. You react far too rabidly to be that uninterested.
