I find the Put character to be lazy too. Pat is old and familiar territory and easy. Put's tiny-@ss emotional labor contribution with that shark toy is both immature and disturbing.

I like that Jeng is cultivating a good friendship with Pat. I don't believe that Pat is ready for a romantic relationship yet. He's picked up some self-destructive coping tools with Put and he needs to shed them moving forward.

I hope this is the model that Jaab is using with Jane - cultivate a good friendship then maybe dive into a romantic relationship. Personally, I have trust issues with Jane.

While we didn't get to experience the Jane and Mon break up, I believe it was the same dynamic we're witnessing between Put and Pat. The feelings that Jane had with Jaab was probably much better than he had with Mon. However, the kiss was a mistake, in that Jane was in a committed relationship and should not have kissed someone else. But, Jaab being fully in his own head, didn't bother to hear Jane through.

Put is not really making the effort to maintain or even HAVE a relationship with Pat. While Jeng creates safety and offers comfort unconditionally to/for Pat - Put has given neither. I agree that Pat is not feeling what he used to for Put, but, he's no longer that naive person and he's experiencing something deeper with Jeng. Pat is feeling the stark contrast between the 2 men's simple affections, or lack.

I love Jeng's focused flirting combined with being a caring and nurturing mentor. That same mentorship is probably the piece that's giving folks "daddy" vibes.

I can't speak to absolutes about straight male behaviors. I also prefer acceptance instead of succumb. I'm a choice and consent person and succumb, when it involves intimate relations, feels a little icky and coercive to me. When you say "succumb" it instantly causes me to think there can, and will be, regret after intimacy.

But getting back to the drama...we know Han Joon has accepted his gayness and wants Yoo Jae to actually choose him and accept it as a valid love instead of being coerced., or swayed by temporary insanity of jealousy. From an actors standpoint, their chemistry isn't friendship or lovers. There's more chemistry between Boxing Hyung and Han Joon instead of the childish possessiveness and stunted emotions of Yoo Jae.

Yes, he held back. For me, that choice was frustrating and felt forced and unpleasant. It reminded me of God/Bas intimacy in 2 Moons. Of course, I need to consider that Jae Yoo is grappling with being gay for Han Joon. I firmly believe that the scene called for more desperation and it felt flat. It was a great opportunity for an "appetizer" kiss, but we got water and a wilted salad.

I think we'll get more misses and "I'm only gay for you!" However, it would be nice if we get a genuine and sincere hug, as I don't need for this drama to be sealed with a kiss. You know...since I'm "hate watching!" ha-ha.

For me, the scene called for desperate passion and instead, me, as the viewer, received "let me get this over with" intimacy. But, that's what angle kisses are all about - the viewer's brain fills in the gaps according to their personal perspectives and biases. You either enjoy the angle or you don't.
