When we say these things people think we're obsessed with a man lmao, I'm happy other people recognize that he's talented and not just handsome. And not just average talent or surface level but he has deep understanding of what he's meant to do as an actor even though he didn't go to acting school.

You said it perfectly, Jin Zhao if not played well wouldn't be as liked as he is rn, he could come off as cringey or greasy you know? There was a very tight spot for him to fit into and he did. I've said that actors slap their personalities on modern idol dramas, and sometimes they give average performances because historicals tend to do better but he went above and beyond for this character

Same he's my favourite actor rn, I have other fave's of course but they all have well established careers and are recognized but He Yu isn't so I want to watch that growth. After watching the trailer for BOP, it might be his breakout role idk. He looks so good and seems to act well from the reuters. (Do you know his costar Meng Ziyi and director offered him the script, that's so sweet)

Girl what do you mean COMEDY, that's his home turf! he's so good at it lmaoooo, you should watch "so funny youth" or "lets meet now." The first show I watched him in was Legend of Shenli and Furong Jun was the comedic element of the show as well.

You know after watching clips of him for sometime now I still think he's not someone who smiles alot, he has an insane poker face. He smiles alot when he's with his friends tho and it's a VERY LARGE smile lmaooo. So it makes up for when he doesn't.

Have you wathed any of his previous dramas? He did alot of comedy type roles in the past and he fits them so well. His role in so funny youth and lets meet now (I checked them out after SAL) are done so naturally and funny as well. He Yu has really good comedic timing because he's funny irl even though he looks serious

He's good at martial arts as well in Dashing youth (I haven't watched it but it's the drama that was a mini breakout, a lot of people still talk about the character)

People try to reduce SAL to a show for young girls maybe that's why they don't really look at the acting? He handled the character gracefully with micro expressions. I don't want to sound crazy but micro expressions make the characters feel like real people and not just 'acting" if you get what I mean. I'm so invested in him after this show lmao, not about looks or anything just pure talent.

I still can't beleive the scenes in China were filmed first because how do you even start to look for the emotions to use when you haven't lived through it through the character. He Yu said he would've acted better if they filmed the Thailand scenes first and I'm like nothing can beat what you just did it's fine lmao. Mumu as well!

Someone said he looks at Mumu like he can't believe she's in front of him and that sums it up perfectly, to translate that onto a screen isn't easy. I've always said that characters like Mumu and Sanlai are so fun and wear their hearts in their sleeves you can see everything and their energy. But JZ doesn't talk much so his gaze and body language is so important and He Yu was able to act it out so well. I can't lie I didn't think his acting would be that good tbh

H e accepted the show before SAL apparently, it's the same director as BOP, low key think he wanted to work with him, then got the opportunity AGAIN after SAL with BOP. Some actors take roles just to work with the director.
