This was so good for a vertical drama. While the plot was toxic, everyone in the cast was so spot on!
top tier toxic drama and i enjoyed it in most parts cos of the acting but the ending was terrible, i didnt expect them to be together but the 2nd FL was a heinous b***h and what she got was a slap in the wrist. Maybe they tried to stick to the novel but that's not an excuse imo
Best xianxia till date! From acting, music, cast, screenplay, story, balance of romance and angst, 2nd ML and other supporting characters. Everyone played their character perfectly. Wish ending were much longer

And yeah, i couldn't agree more! The shoe scene is etched in my mind and whenever I think of the ML now, that’s the scene that pops up first. His acting was top tier, and not everyone has the range for a role/scene like that. My take was more from a realistic angle, but while actually watching it, you just get totally sucked in by how amazing both leads are.

Watched both versions but this one is deffo darker imo. Also one of the only C dramas I have watched where the opening scene is FL having s*x with the 2nd ML/scumbag.

Normally i would skip similar plots but this was well done! Edit (bcos i wanted to expand on) : It's not perfect and has the old trope but the screenplay, CP, pacing everything give it a very nice vibe. I feel it's underrated.
