I forgot to rant about the selection/designated date thing.. Like how freaking sexist it is! So the men chose…
In the previous seasons I'm pretty sure the women got to choose too. Dont remember s1 but the Jeju travel date has always been a double-sided choice. Since they're going to Jeju so soon in this season they haven't had many opportunities to go on official dates but I don't think this a sexist issue. The women will probably have selected dates in Jeju, let's see how this season goes
The mum's speech to Haneul in today's episode made me cry she's one of the best kdrama mothers I've ever seen like yes she makes mistakes but she owns up to them and she just has so much love & understanding for her daughter :( Glad Haneul can rely on her while she overcomes her depression
I was smiling so much during Hyewon & Dongjin's date they're just soo cute and I'm glad Hyewon is paying more attention to him I hope Dongjin stops seeing her as just a little sister at one point :( rooting for their endgame.
Also I didn't expect Changjin and Dahye to hit it off as well as they are right now, from the night he chose her as his date it just felt like they were trying to recreate the iconic HaeeunxHyunggyu moment and it would end after the first date but surprisingly not! I did not have much hope for Dahye considering she is fresh out of a 13 year relationship and is clearly struggling more from the breakup than her ex but after that first week/after Changjin came she has brightened up a lot :) The fact that they've only known each other for a few days but they literally stayed up talking until 6am, and THEN went on a date the next day where the conversation still flowed freely with no breaks is crazy.
The ex rooms have messed things up but I still don't want any of the exes to get back together as of now.
Can't tell if this season the exes are being more obvious or the participants are more observant/smart or both but it feels like most of them can tell who is exes with who. It's kinda satisfying in a way.
Dongjin has to be one of the best contestants in this show like I'm just in awe at how great of a person he is? Like sure, we only see what they show onscreen but on a show like this where they're literally surrounded by cameras for 3 weeks straight your real self is bound to show through. He's so sweet and caring to every single one of them, and you can tell he's trying his best whenever he goes on dates. And with Dahye, it's clear he has for the most part moved on while she is still struggling to, but he's not necessarily rude and completely cold towards her in comparison to other contestants who were in similar situations. He's trying to maintain a distance while also trying not to send any signals towards her so that she can move on better and find someone new. I know some people were offended by his "spam" comment, but I don't think he said it with malicious intent. The messages she was sending him every night were short, little comments without much meaning and he didn't feel like anything really came out of them. Also, really loved the way he explained his emotions after Dahye chose someone else for the first time to message. Can't completely remember, but he said something along the lines of him feeling angry, but also happy that she found someone new. It really shows how mature he is, the fact that he can acknowledge that discomfort and knows it's natural to feel that way, especially after dating for 13 years, but is able to still wish her the best. He's not trying to hold her back at all, both in his actions and his emotions.
Dongjin and Hyewon are both such sweet pure people I am really rooting for them. Honestly, I'm a little doubtful that they will end up together by the end considering how their first date went. It was a good comfortable date and they enjoyed themselves but it didn't look like anything was developing afterwards. But I still wish they will, I think they both suit each other well. They both deserve the best.
Honestly just a me problem but I wanted the leads to be just friends for a little longer before they started discussing feelings and all that. There's a different kind of happiness/comfort seeing them just rely and meet each other platonically vs romantically for me but I get it 🤷♀️ I have this problem with a lot of dramas lol
Finally finished it and overall it was a pretty average drama. Kinda expected more after seeing the cast list and the actors were respectively very talented as usual, but I couldn't really connect with any of their characters. Eps 5-7 were probably the most draggy part, I really did not care about Song Chon but I understand how he was needed to tie everything in.
Ngl I mainly just watched it for Sukku and man his face does not disappoint! Kudos to whoever suggested the facial hair lol
I'm also only halfway but I'm assuming the 'supernatural' part is how there are outside events that keep helping…
I get what you mean. But after finishing it, it's still not very clear whether he actually has a power or if it's just in his head. So I don't think the ending of ep4 was really much of a revelation of his powers, that was just some crazy fanatic convincing Tang that he did.
