Honestly I don't see many long lasting couples coming out of this season but I do feel that almost every single participant this season is a genuinely good person. The comment section is calling certain people red flags but i don't see it that way at all. Some express themselves a little differently, but that does not make them bad people. I doubt they'll end up with a partner here at this rate, but i truly wish XiaoJiao-RuiLong-Doudou find a partner that will treat them right, even if it's not on this show

The episode where the new guy joined the show has been my fav since this season started, and I really like him too he's one of my favorites already. I like the self-assured way he carries himself, the way he can naturally continue conversations while still sounding very authentic. He has a very confident aura about him, but at the same time it's not too much and not too 'domineering alpha male'. I'm glad he's in the cast compared to the rest of the introvert men lol. I also really like the new short hair actress panelist, her reactions are so fangirl and adorably dramatic.
As for the Duodou-Lechen-Yuan love triangle, I'm very much a fan of Duodou so I'm rooting for her more, but I also really like Luyuan as a person, i think she's a very authentic person that knows what she wants and does her best while remaining respectful. So I'm happy with whatever outcome. Lechen seem like a nice guy, but I think i mainly like him only because i love the way he interacts with Doudou. I think her and Rui Long would be an interesting match too, but they defo need more interactions first and Long should actually make a move if he is interested. I love Rui Long & Jiao's friendship sm. I think part of the success of a good dating shows is genuine friendships being formed within it.

I have a couple things to say about that tiny plot twist used in episode 35 which prevented the leads from getting married.First of all, LOVE the concept of it as a device to deliver angst and shownhow much the leads love each other. However, the execution was rushed and straight up confusing. Like, it makes perfect sense that the king doesn't want the two greatest generals of Wei united in marriage. But the way he went about it, forcing Xiao Jue to deliver the message to He Yan and threatening his family if not? That was so strange. Because until then, it seemed the king and Xiao Jue were on good terms. But suddenly he pulls this very cruel rule just for what? To upset Xiao Jue even more? It just made no sense. I wish they fleshed out the king's character more because the rest of his actions all kinda aligned the same way except with this one moment. And this rule lasted one episode. They return from war and then suddenly they can marry. Not a single peep from the king and his thought process whatsoever. Like was it supposed to be a reward from winning the war? I don't think that's enough though, since they've already won many wars and proved their loyalty to Wei multiple times at this point. Like make it make sense.

Maybe it’s the script, maybe there’s too much going on to fit everything well into 36 eps, but the show’s…
I like the drama and I agree 😭 i'm having an emotional disconnect when it comes to their sadder scenes, it's probably because all the mini subplots are so rushed. Like the shifu-queen subplot, we barely know these people and suddenly they have a tragic love story. If it was hinted at earlier, if He Yan's shifu actually had some sort of depth the first time we see him, it would have been better.

That’s the flaw in the drama. In the novel, they’ve been students only for 1 year, when she was 14-15 and…
Yeah sounds like the hidden identity concept is done much better in the novel. Sigh, I really hope there comes a day where they remove censorship or at least slacken it, the plot quality overall would be on another level

Probably because people grow up and the voice changes.
But they still met at during the scene where the Xiao dad died. Where 'Rufei' had the same voice as before, and suddenly his height & voice & pretty much personality changes at court. You'd think someone as perceptive as Jue would've noticed

At least in the novel it makes more sense lol. If they had just skipped the scene where the Xiao dad died in front of the leads it would've fit more bc then they really would not have reunited as Xiao Jue and Rufei until the court scene.
The Double wasnt very realistic either, with a supposedly grown married woman pretending to be a girl that's much younger, but they did well considering censorship limits. They managed to make it work

I know for this drama, with how they've already skipped over quite a few realistic issues regarding He Yan's cross dressing, I shouldn't point out other flaws but I can't help it. Xiao Jue literally interacted with 'He Rufei' multiple times while they were students together, to the point he would've been very familiar with 'his' height and voice (I'm ignoring how blatantly obvious the voice itself is gender-wise), but he didn't blink an eye once He Rufei suddenly appears before him taller and with a different, more masculine voice. How did he not recognize the voice of the person he went to school with when he meets He Yan again? He Yan too, in the short period where she was blind and had to rely on her other senses a lot more. She should've recognized Xiao Jue's voice when they interacted. She literally recognized the voice of the guy that tried to kill her, but not the guy she spent so much time with? I get it's for the plot and dramatics but aaargh

The panelists Chunye & Jerry lowkey piss me off. I've watched the past couple seasons and whenever Jerry is in the panel he alwayyyysss asks "do girls like this?" "are girls into this?" whenever a guy does something romantic n it's so cringe ur literally pushing 50 and ur the oldest in the group why are u of all people asking what girls are into when the girls ur asking are almost half ur age it's such an ick. And in the last season I dont remember the details but there was a love triangle & Chunye was rooting for one guy so much that she started bashing the other guy and criticizing his actions. That guy was already getting a lot of hate from viewers too for not being straightforward enough or something but honestly as a panelist she should have had the common sense Not to be so mean abt a participant on camera. She shouldn't have been on this panel. The only ones I like are Minghao, Hankizi, & Victor.

Totally agree! I've been watching Heart Signal S08 and I have to skip every time the panelists show up...they…
Oh my god yes I get like a 5 min discussion about what happened onscreen but I Hate when they go on a whole 20 min talk about their love lives and how it affected them psychologically or whatever, the show is about the dating cast not you!!

I'm rooting for Doudou & Lechen even tho their interactions are far from romantic I think i just like the friends-to-lovers arc and i love how easily they both interact with each other and joke around

The drama's pretty good, the one small complaint I have is whenever Misa mentions the future, even in the tiniest mutter, the person beside her will be like "what?" and she'll brush it off somehow. It was okay the first few times, but this happens Every. Single. Time. that it's become redundant. Like let's be real here, if your friend occasionally mutters something to herself, you're not gonna ask what she said every time. And it's always when she talks about thr future, it's just a little too on the nose

Title Our Unwritten Seoul Spoiler
I get that Gyeonggu was revealed to be gay and that he and Miji were only fake dating, but I didn't really understand Miji's outburst at that guy during the wedding scene. Does that mean the guy knew all along that Gyeonggu was gay and had a crush on him? Miji obviously knew Gyeonggu was gay 10 years ago when they started "dating", so I don't understand why she got so mad when that guy explained the stuff she already knew
