had visuals, had cinematography, but lacked everything else; the director is definitely the issue here. I have seen enough of IU's dramas to know she's an incredible actress. Hence, I know her acting choices are not her fault. Really confused by your comment, of course, with the popularity of the weak hero, of course, Jihoon would be praised more on here. You speak as if YHJ has not been receiving anything but praise from the knet side because he is better known there. Also, I'm not the only one praising his performance. I believe the cultural divide between South Koreans and non-South Koreans is eliminating us from feeling just how profound this movie is. This person, who was a real person, a 17-year-old, is taught in their history books and has a whole festival dedicated to him. I can now understand why there is enormous love for this movie in Korea. Park Jihoon, once again, I can't put into words how incredible an actor he is. This was an Oscar-level performance.

I do not have to spell out everything just because someone lacks comprehension or takes every word literally. I love IU, I love Byeon Woo Seok, and I think this drama deserves some grace.
