Revenge, hatred, jealousy

Just as the title explains - it's all about the rivalry between 2 families that are enemies with each other. I would say 80% is all about this 2 family fighting with each other over projects/deals & jealousy/hatred among the people.

1. THE GOOD
- Good chemistry between FL and ML. Although it was not the main plot of the show but they still managed to their display their romance well
- Good ending in my opinion, where the bad ones are punished
- Decisive and strong FL - not wavered by other factors when she is determined to do something
- Not draggy, things are exposed early and moves on

2. THE NORMAL
- Pretty decent OST, although nothing catch my ear particularly. Also seems like they repeat the same song throughout the show

3. THE BAD
- Revenge from start till the end.. there are almost no romance scenes in the last 2 episodes
- Too much expose on the people, it's like everyone have a deep secret
- ML still cannot forget his ex gf for almost 10 episodes into the show (abit hard to watch)
- Too many side character storyline already (for e.g. 2nd ML + 2nd FL, FL's brother + wife, FL's brother love triangle).

FINAL VERDICT: i would say this is not for the light hearted. if you're looking for something that is easy to watch then this is not for you, romance is about 20% of the whole show although it is very sweet. most likely won't be rewatching it too.

I watched finished this in 2 days by skipping a lot hoping that something can interest me.. but unfortunately not. I also thought the revelation for FL's gender would be sooner but it took the show soooo long to reveal it only to realize it's gonna end already.

Ok let me point out why i wouldn't recommend this:
(1) No chemistry between the main leads. ML's acting have always been the same for all his dramas aka. boring
(2) FL is too cutesy for a gender-bender show.. although I know it is meant to be like this
(3) 2nd ML character overpowers ML's role, he is more interesting to watch (ok maybe this is a pro)
(4) Predictable plot, remake of Korean SKK scandal which was better
(5) Took forever to reveal the FL's gender

Saving grace for this drama would be that there are no annoying characters

FINAL VERDICT: not a good gender bender drama - i recommend 'the heiress' 女世子 if u are looking for a good gender bender drama

Too long but decent wuxia drama

Not a fan of dillireba, especially in period dramas because I felt that something about her image don't suit period dramas that well and it's abit hard to focus on her expression and all. However, i do think this is one of the better ones she acted (also with the boost of a lot other strong supporting actor/actress). Had a lot of mixed feelings while watching this because i think it's neither good/bad.. i managed to finish it by skipping a lot of boring scenes.

PROS:
- Good change in Zhao Lu Si's usual fun and quirky roles. Her role as princess has impressed me a lot.
- ML is not a jerk and express his feelings well
- Despite ML's young age, he managed to pull off the role very well & also the romance with FL
- No evil love triangle plot

CONS:
- 2nd couple (ZLS and LYN) can have more scenes together and more on their relationship growth since the drama is so long
- FL's role as someone that is good at martial arts is not portrayed well in most scenes.. sometimes she can fight hundreds of people, sometimes she don't seem like she can fight
- Too long, a lot of scenes can be cut short/ you can still catch up after skipping a fair bit

FINAL VERDICT: watch if you like a strong FL and ML & not much romance involved

Female lead steals the show!

This show covers a lot of aspect from work to love to friendships and more. The casting for ML and FL is 10/10.. both their acting and persona fits in perfectly. Tan Song Yun have grown to be one of my favourite female actress in the recent years. Her role as Ning Meng is a courageous, meticulous and goal orientated woman.. YET she still shows the side of her where she lives in a practical world. Ling Geng Xin's role as the ML and CEO is perfect too as he don't seem like a the typical young, handsome and rich guy that is good for nothing. He is someone albeit mean but really good at his job. Overall, i think it's a good drama if you want to escape from the lovey dovey dramas.

PROS:
- Character development from both ML and FL
- Plot is not draggy and ML & FL don't 'randomly' fall in love
- Supportive friends

CONS:
- FL and 2nd ML's romance can be improved.. no chemistry at all.. otherwise not needed/can be expressed differently
- ML and FL could have been together sooner (i guess romance is not the main part for this show..)

FINAL VERDICT: i will probably not watch it again but it's a good show to watch over a meal, not worth your sleepless nights.

Slowburn romance

First off, this show has 2 parts to it which totals up to 56 episodes.. which you can already tell there will be a lot more things to tell in this show. BUT, in this first part of the show I felt that everything was progressing very slowly which makes it hard for me to be very invested (esp the romance). First part of show revolve mainly on FL's story and for us to understand her character (why she acted like that, her perspective of love and family, etc.) which was very done in my opinion. It's not sloppy and even in her first engagement with Lou Yao - i can tell that she wants to escape her family and a husband that does not restrict what she does. All these don't need words to explain but was already well shown in the first part of it.

However, as mentioned above, the romance between FL and ML is very slow and they have very little scenes together (almost all the scenes the ML appeared is to save FL).. not to mention their lines with each other adds up to less than 10. Even up till the last ep of P1, i still don't think she likes ML/appreciates what he does for her. Nonetheless, both FL and ML have great chemistry together. Also, there are almost no emphasis on ML's character and story too which I felt like could be shown more. Like we spent more almost half of the show seeing FL and her story but doesn't know anything about ML.. this part doesn't make sense to me, also if they were going to show his revenge or whatsoever in the later part shouldn't such development begins from here?

So far the show is still good, cinematic is very pretty and it makes u want to continue watching but maybe because the progress is so slow, the wait is less satisfying when u watch. I do hope to see more of both ML and FL's character growth in the second part. And I also hope they will not rush the ending where the last few episodes end messily.

FINAL VERDICT for P1, not a show to waste ur late nights for but if u are gonna binge watch then best to watch when both parts are out!

work drama, nothing special

If you have watched most of Tan Song Yun's show, her character here is very much like other shows - I wouldn't think it's a breakthrough or anything. I feel like this show is similar to Master of my own, in a sense where there is workplace romance, mature adults, slow paced and also no big drama or anything.

Show revolve around the main leads and their lives as pilot at Lu Zhou Airlines. I can't rate based on the technicality as to how real it was to real life aviation but the show does not really bore you and moves on fast. Don't expect the romance to be super fluffy kind or anything like that. There is abit of love triangle but nothing too much, romance between main leads only start towards the end of the show.

There are also some story on the supporting characters... which is boring to me.. didn't really enjoy the story on the female lead friend so i usually skip through it.

Recommend to watch if you're into work drama. Skip if you're not. The romance part got nothing much to offer. Both leads are pretty good but chemistry is quite meh.

Not a show for me, but great castings!

I didn't gave this show high ratings not because they it's bad/acting sucks but because i am personally not a fan of such genre (military, war related). However i do think that Xu Kai and Bai Lu as well other supporting actors acted really well here. Bai Lu as a "man" in this show is very convincing, never was she weaker than most of the men in the military school & she never acted all girly infront of ML either. I also love Xu Kai's character here, very goofy and fun to watch. I fast forward a lot of the scenes related to war/fights because it's just not for me and I would say the romance part is very little here (it's not for you, if you're in for romance). FL and ML also have good chemistry together even though they actually don't have any sweet lovey dovey kiss scenes. 2nd ML was great too, just that i couldn't quite get his love for FL.

Would still recommend this to people out there that wants a little romance, comedy, friendship and war/conspiracy. However, I will probably not rewatch this.

romance all the way

super excited to watch this show since the poster came out. love the casting of tan song yun and jing boran as the main leads. i really love romance show that shows a healthy relationship, no crazy drama and mature.. so to me this show really did well. the chemistry is a 10/10, with the cinematic all it's really a very sweet romance.

actually this show is not hard to understand at all. but all the flashbacks makes it very confusing sometimes, because they show the present time and flash back sometimes. there are a lot of flashbacks but nothing very impt to take note as to what really happened between them. development of the story is ok, but sometimes the timeline seems to jump abit for me and idk how long time have past or anything. for example, when did they have kids??? when was she pregnant??? when was her kid like 5 years old alr??? or like everytime luchen went off for work it felt like very long. this would be a really good show if it is shorter imo. still, love both leads!!! and jing boran looks super hot soooo why not

family drama that shows blood is thicker than water

This is a good family drama that should be set as a benchmark. I came here mainly for the casts but ended up to find myself emotionally attached to the Qiao siblings. First of all, the casts of this show is top notch - i believe one that watched enough chinese dramas will atleast know Bai Yu and Bai Xiao Tong. To put them together with Wan Yi, Song Zu Er, & Yi Ran the chemistry is amazing. The show started off when they are young when Qi Qi their youngest brother was born till all of them have grown up. The pace and development is great. Each of the Qiao sibling's character shine in their own way & although it makes me frustrated and upset at times, but when they come together it just seems like they got each other's back & everything can be resolved.

Qiao Yi Cheng, the eldest brother - the person that held the greatest responsibility in the family since young because of their useless father. QYC is a character that came off as someone with low self esteem, yet also putting a lot of pressure on himself. What i felt throughout the show was that he didn't share he feelings even to his siblings because he felt like as the big brother he should behave a certain way. I particularly liked his r/s with Ye Xiao Lang his first wife, their conversation with each other is very realistic, and although they seem compatible at some point, it eventually shows that QYC is not as ambitious as YXL and maybe his siblings is something he cannot put down in life. I rooted for him a lot in this show hoping things will go well for him because his life just seem very tiring.

Then we have Er Qiang, the truest to himself out of all Qiao family. Very quiet and reserved guy but will fight for what he wants. He does seem more "lost" in life, but he treats people with a lot of care and respect. I am happy that he never doubted his choices despite the whole world telling him otherwise, which eventually proves that he made the right decision.

To the sisters, I love San Li so much. She is very understanding and polite and seems to be know what is the right thing to do and say. I adore her r/s with Yi Ding & i rooted them throughout the whole show. I love how she shows a different side to her when she was in a r/s and married, a more 'defiant' side that she never shown. Yi Ding and her characters just seems to blend well together. And we have, Si Mei that vainest off all but her only saving grace is that she love her brothers and sisters a lot. Very brave in everything she does. Had a love-hate r/s with her actually, but she eventually grew on me. Also, to the others that made an impact but appear lesser, e.g. Qiqi, Wei Min, the aunt, all of them form a great bond together.

In all, this is a good family drama that is worth watching.. and the script writing is something that is worth paying attention to.

second time watching

Rewatched this for the second time and is here to give a proper review. In case you only watched this recently, we don't know when Deng Lun (ML) will appear on screen again.. what more another xianxia drama.

First off, I really liked Yang Zi and Deng Lun as both their acting was good & they have good chemistry together. Although this show was in 2018, i never felt like their acting was amateur here. To me, Xu Feng was the main stealer for this entire show. His character developed well throughout the show from how he met Jin Mi, fell in love to a love-hate relationship. A lot people didn't like Xu Feng because they think that he was manipulative and is not empathetic towards Run Yi. But his character is not built to be perfect - his parents are evil but he still chose to protect them at some point, also i don't find that his love towards Jin Mi was manipulative. When they both went down to mortal/human realm, i think that Jin Mi at that point of time still doesn't know what is love (even though XF died with her). She could be touched and thinks that she wants to "repay" XF in that sense when they got to immortal realm. It was not forced by XF as to how JM falls in love with him. The true moment she realized that she actually love XF was when she killed him, that it hurts for much he is gone. That is also why i hated the fact that my fav moments in this whole show, when they were lovey dovey was actually not true love YET. I also didn't liked that moon immortal was there to heavily ship the main couple (JM and XF). Moon immortal was very bias towards XF to the point that i forgot RY was also one of his nephew.

This aside, the reason why I rated this high was because the storyline was interesting although frustrating at times. I didn't like JM's character here because she was too easily persuaded/swayed by people around her. She is also not smart and needed to be saved most of the time. It isn't a solid character in my opinion. Even the evil people in this show was more bearable than JM at some points. On the other hand, i really liked XF both when he is phoenix and demon lord. His love for JM was also very sweet and heart breaking. I could totally feel a different aura when he was phoenix vs. demon lord. Run Yi was another character that was worth watching in this show - he is the antagonist but a very pitiful one. People argued that his love for JM is no less than XF but now that I rewatched i can't find the point when he actually falls in love with JM.. for sure JM i is interesting/cute/funny to him at first sight but there weren't much interactions between them afterwards for him to be obsessed with her. Instead, i do felt that he became competitive and "love" JM when he knows XF love her, which happened early in the show. We cannot deny that although XF is not the best brother to RY, RY does not have 100% pure intentions towards XF/JM either. However, as much as I cannot get his love for JM, i think that his pov and story towards his family was worth giving credit for.

Overall, i think this show not for the impatience people as it has a whooping number of 63 episodes. The romance will make u either love it or hate it. If you cannot stand those shows with heavy misunderstandings, you probably won't enjoy it. However, i still think it's a good show overall because you get to enjoy a lot more than the main couple's story. Romance between main leads might be slow burn but it's that kind will make u satisfied at the very end (u just have to bear with it). With Yang Zi and Deng Lun's acting + visuals + chemistry, this show is easily a >5 for me.

interesting storyline, keeps you occupied

This drama from the start till the end, keeps you going non-stop. It's almost like a journey with the main leads - suspecting everyone, trying out different ways, going through the time loop again and again. Here's the thing, you don't know when will the last time loop be, you don't know how each time loop is gonna affect you and what would be the best solution for everyone? that's for you to find out. With just 15 episodes, you explore 8 suspects with 2 main leads, there are so much going on., but it's very interesting to find out.

First off, I would like to give credit to all the actor and actresses in this show. All of them acted so well that made me invested in the story. I was watching this at night and found it thrilling towards the end (at that point when the truth unfolds).
Second, character development both leads had - from a simple minded youngster to trust and love between the both of them. At each loop, they are stuck in the dilemma to save themselves or everyone in the bus but i love how their choices change as their personality grow too.

However, this show could have been better if certain parts are more well explained. For example:
- how does this time loop thing happened?
- why does meng meng became erratic from her scared/afraid nature after the molestation
- the ending seems so easy for the police to believe the MLFL compared to the previous time loops
- why the cat guy didnt get into time loop?

I've watched a similar genre time loop drama from Hong Kong years ago called Over Run Over EU超時任務 which is as good as this. I recommend that if you enjoy this drama too :)

Overall, the rewatch value for this show is low as it would have already spoil all the fun & thrill for me already. However, for people that are hesitating/finding a good show to watch, then i would highly recommend this!!! It's a hit for me in terms of plot, acting, non-draggyness, suspense, thrill, little bit of romance.

I didn't thought Victoria Song was very good at acting but funnily in this show she acted the best out of all. I am sorry but SWL's acting was bad, he didn't make me feel like he loved the FL or atleast their romance scenes weren't sweet to me. The show however did great in casting both for the older woman-younger man romance drama because SWL does look like a young boy beside Victoria Song. If you talk about plot, it's just like any other younger man falling in love with an older woman show out there now, nothing special. Their relationship does not have any solid foundation as well. Would have given higher ratings if supporting roles have a better story but it is nothing interesting too (also another age gap relationship thing repeated). Still, i think if u are into this kind of genre u can try watching it. Otherwise, there's nothing memorable about this show.

Mature leads that shares the same values and love that is built on trust

First of all, I really love Tan Song Yun in almost all her dramas. She is one of the c-actress that I think has an eye when choosing script and dramas. Her acting is very natural and she looks really good in both modern and historical dramas. And she did it again, this drama never disappoint me at all.

I love how both ML and FL are very mature in handling their relationship and things around them. In fact, Shi Yi (FL) is considered young in the show and she is married into the ML family with a bunch of concubines and annoying mother-in-law for the sake of protecting her nephew's place in the ML family. She herself came from a aristocratic household and is always seen as an option to her family. The drama shows how she survives in the family and wins the trust and love from the ML.

Back to the romance, it's not fireworks or love at first sight. It's pretty slow burn and although ML had a few other concubines but does not marry them by love. He respected his mother and his wishes but we do see him "rebel" abit when he fell in love with FL. It also does not have the "hero save beauty" kind of plot. In most times, both of them do not push pull with each other and have good and mature conversations with each other. I really love both their characters and I felt that the actor and actress did very well.

It's been a long while since I watched dramas like this and I highly recommend this if you haven't watch!

Xing Fu, the only main lead

As the title would have already spoilt you, the drama shows Xing Fu marrying into the Wang family in the rural village & where all the story around the evil Wan family unfolds. I love ZLY's character as Xing Fu, she is loyal to the family and does not hesitate to fight for what is right. The drama does brings out a few incidents that the Wan Family deserved harsh punishment but the drama failed to portray that part well & i felt like it was swept under the rug.

Xing Fu's character by ZLY is very interesting to watch. She might not be as knowledgeable as her sister but she knows how to adapt to new environment, read the surrounding, treat people with the respect they deserve and is very hardworking. The drama did very well in her character growth. However, her in laws (Wang Family) was hard to watch. Although they did show very well the mentality people from rural places might have but they do not deserve anything Xing Fu have done for them and i don't think they appreciated it as well. XF's husband was a coward and only knows how to whine or how life treated him badly. I honestly have no idea how she survived in that family. XF's sister was different from her, she is able to bend her back for money (i don't blame her completely here) but she shows no gratitude to the people that helped her once she succeeded.

Here comes my favourite part of the show - when Xing Fu works at Guan Tao's new law firm. It was nice to see how XF helped GT and how much she learned there. I am sad that it didn't continue because she chose to goes back to the village in the end. I actually alr knew GT wasn't gonna play a ML role here because the poster only wrote he is a guest role (i know its weird because he appeared in so many scenes).

Overall, the setting of this show is good but given a better direction, it would have ended much better (and also to our satisfaction). It could have been MUCH better to see XF walk out from her toxic in law family and for Wan Family to get a much harsher punishment. But everything was just not that. Nonetheless, i enjoyed this show thanks to Xing Fu and Guan Tao!

makes u rage at all the evil people (other than that, highly recommeded!)

Was finding some lakorn to watch and happened to chance upon this. No regrets in burning midnight oil just to finish this. Excellent acting from the main leads, all the emotions are well expressed. They perfectly depict "silence is the loudest voice in my heart" - one of the quote i remembered the most.

Ok breakdown of why this is highly recommended:

1. Story
A pretty interesting story plot to me (albeit it might have been shown in other shows before idk). I am personally not a big fan of shows that revolve around fighting for inheritance/ fake marriage kind of thing as they can be cliché. But i still decided to give this show a go. Other than the whole political thing, the love plot of this show can go from makin you smile till heart wrenching (now you know what you're in for). However, I hate to say that I am not the biggest fan of the ending :( because the good people deserve so much more and better!

2. People
To me, I think it is a love-hate relationship with the people in this show. I absolutely love how the 3 main characters in this show (Treenuch, Time, Touch) are non-toxic. In fact, the bromance between the 2 brothers is a bonus!! I love Touch's character so much, he is so sincere and i feel his pain throughout the whole show. i only want the best for him. Time on the other hand will do anything to protect his brother and his lover, he is fearless and never fails to express himself. I just love he can go from playful to serious.. WARNING: u will fall in love. Treenuch is not your typical dumb FL although she did marry for money, but her loyalty for Touch was worth applauding to.
On the other side, the villans in this show are extremely annoying and hard to watch - the evil deeds they did was so bad that it made me skip quite a bit of the show. . one of the most evil villians i have watched.

3. Music
Super good, makes you cry all the damn time!

FINAL VERDICT: really one of the best acting in lakorn i have watched/seen in the recent years, hands down. If you're in for visuals + acting, then this is it! Show is only 15 episodes so it won't be draggy
