Glad that he didn't. But knowing everything shows me the reason for why he's how he is. But that doesn't take away from the trauma he is causing his victims. I'll feel terrible for what he's gone through until he's perpetrating similar wrongs against someone else.

If he was shown to have affection for his child, qq may have (stress on may) adjusted to him eventually but still she'd have gone through the abuse for the time till then. So my empathy couldn't have coexisted with my aversion to his current behavior. But that's just me. And at the same time i am also open to proportionally compensating redemption arcs rightly done.

Yes. Absolutely. But when you show a cruel character doing cruel and creepy stuff like his brother you hate him without dilution bc he's packaged as a villain but then his character you can feel is written to eventually be unfairly demanding viewers' understanding of his behavior also not to forget his and qian qian's story is calculatively written to be romanticized i feel. I mean that bath tub/ hammam scene, qq must have been vomiting inside having to do it but the bgm playing is telling us something else. Like seriously? What are you trying to convey here fr? Those romantically wrappered scenes are physically uncomfortable to watch.

I mean i can watch him being cruel with everyone but his kid and xian xian... those scenes are to gagging for me to not just skip. Looking for deng kai's other dramas to watch tho. Fab actor he is.

Episode 22. My girl is looking for her sister, gets stuck in dam construction biz, meets her pork shop mates and a cute granpa, draws lots to decide leave or stay, gets happy on drawing stay. Why? Shouldn't she be hoping and praying to leave to start looking for her sister again?

Next granpa wants to exchange his "leave" lot with changyu but the guy leader guy from the pork shop gang says is granpa trying to risk her life since getting out of the quarry means to have to join the war. But are women also getting conscripted here?

I think it's the first time I am seeing food crumbs on a fl's face while eating in a cdrama. Usually cdramas are too concerned about not making their leads look human. Especially fls. I once saw an ml wiping lipstick that supposed to have smudged out of fls lips when there was nothing, like perfect lipstick. I love that even tho always madeup like with blush and fake lashes this show allows its fl to look dirty, grimy, messy and human.

In episode 16 Fan Chang Yu can't fully defeat yanching by herself but i saw in a clip of a later episode that she defeats a man quadruple yanching's size without any help. What happened?

My only problem with this show for now is there are so many people relevant to the story and thus so many names and i am terrible with remembering names. Can't even remember one name. It takes me time to remember a name. So when they are talking about this minister is doing this and this minister's son has gone rogue i be sitting like 😖😰

I've seen the Fuling girl in some other drama but can't find her in the cast list.
