I usually stay away from giving Kdramas a rating of 10 because reviewers may think one is over exaggerating how the drama was. So in my opinion I'm not exaggerating, lol.

I saw the US preview when it first aired but never watched the series because here in the US shows have a tendency of getting canned right off the block and I didn't want to get hooked if that happened. When I saw on each Korean episode that this was loosely based off the American version I went to check and was surprised to see that US version actually lasted for 9 seasons. So with that being said I can't compare the two because I've only watched the Korean version.

I fairly enjoyed each and every episode and all of the cast members except the true antagonist who came into the series midway through. I won't lower my rating even though the series took a different turn from from episode 5 and on and how the antagonist was thrown in. I think his character was just thrown in just to stretch out the series.

Every episode had me grinning from ear to ear and the last two had me fighting back some tears. I love love love dramas that have the capability of getting every last emotion out of me.
I was a bit bummed because it stated it had action in it but sadly enough there was no action in none of the episodes. Before anybody disagrees, my definition of action is fighting scenes, car chases, that sort of thing but I guess some of these dramas that state action means someone doing something.

I also loved the two male lead's chemistry. To me it was like the best father and son duo ever. I love how Koreans can get along with each other without worrying about age differences.

As usual I always comment on the last episode because to me that brings closure to the whole series if it's done right. I can't complain about how it ended as oppose to the other endings of drama series I've watched. I wanted a tiny bit more of justice being served but I had to take what I can get.

All in all, this was a good series to watch for me.

I finished this drama last night and was going to drop this after the fifth episode. It wasn't a bad thriller, some episodes were just really really slow.

I like a good mystery every now and then and this series had my mouth gaped open on several moments. What I thought was what I thought wasn't what I thought. A part of that had my nerves on end while the rest I was like OK, I see where they're going with this.

I went in watching this not being familiar with the main male lead. I remember seeing the second male lead in a drama but couldn't remember what I seen him in which and it led me to finding what I seen him in that was driving me nuts. I seen him in Giant. He was just a teenager at that time though.
His character choice sort of grated my nerves. It was a back and forth for the most of the series. At some points I was thinking seriously, make up your mind which way you want to go!

From the dramas I've seen so far within a year, it was hard for me to get use barely seeing any comedy or fighting. Everything was really serious so it was a bit different from what I usually watch.

I would've given this a lower score but the last few episodes really drew me in and I almost bawled at one on point. If a drama can get me to do that then I would say it's alright in my book.

I wasn't going to watch this because it stated it was supernatural and I usually stay away from sci-fi stuff but this series was absolutely awesome!!

From the fighting scenes to the wonderful chemistry this cast had this series definitely deserves a second watch.

I laughed, held back some tears, got angry, got happy-man, this series did so much justice I would be shocked if anybody gave this a low score.

I recognized some familiar faces that played in other series but I wasn't familiar with the two male leads.

Whenever I see a person who has mad fighting skills and I'm unfamiliar with them I will go and find something else they're in and will watch that and I will have to do that because of the two main male leads and the female who also could fight. She was awesome.

I liked the fact that this also didn't have that cliche romance stuff. I'm steering clear of Korean romances at the moment.

I'm glad a season 2 will be in the making but is dismayed that it will come out next year. All in all as I said before, this deserves a re-watch.

If you like love sick dramas then you'll love this

I tried watching this because it was considered to be have suspense and action with romance on the side. Unfortunately it's majority oozing, drippy romance with a touch of comedy and very little suspense.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who came to watch this because of The K 2 and Healer.

I was disappointed because the first 21 episodes I watched were the same lovey dovey eye roll that I have tried to avoid in a lot of Kdramas.

Now when I first started watching Kdramas which was last June or July of 2020 I became hooked. Not because of the romance but the action and drama itself.

This one I just couldn't stomach because of the main female lead. A lot of Kdramas always have the female lead playing the love sick idiot and it's really ad nauseum for me.

If I was a lovesick preteen or teenager then this would've worked but I'm no longer that. I also don't mind a little romance but this was overly done.

It will have to go on the back burner for the time being for me.

I don't want this to be a long winded review and I don't want to give any spoilers away but this series isn't for the faint of heart. It is dark and gritty to the core, If this is something you can't handle then please don't watch.

I remember back in my high school days I had two years of JROTC. It's not the same as being in the military but you get a taste of what it's like. I was going to join the Marines but at that time women were having problems in the military and I have issues with people who were the same age as me getting in my face telling me what to do because their rank was higher than mine. I even had issues with the actual sergeant majors telling me what to do because they knew they could. I was dismissed from the platoon so many times. I quickly decided going into the military just wasn't for me.
Watching this series reminded me why I made that choice.

This series is mainly one toned but thankfully there were some comical elements to lighten up the atmosphere a little. I don't know if the series would've made it if Koo Kyo Hwan wasn't in it. Kim Sung Kyun threw me for a loop because I was just so use to seeing his demeanor in Fiery Priest that I forgot he can be serious and he was.

If you've ever been bullied or you were one then this may not be a thing to watch. I gave it a low rewatch value because this is something I can't watch twice. There were moments where I was glad that things happened the way it did but overall this is real and it does happen not only in the military but in the police force as well.

No I didn't come to watch this because of the 'drool' factor. I'm no longer a hopeless romantic teenager thank goodness. So I'm not basing my review off of looks. I came to watch this because of Jung Man Shik. I like this guy ever since I saw him in Man To Man. I will watch anything he's in. Same goes for Heo Jae Ho and Cha Tae Hyun-even though he's only in one episode. I like the main male lead but for some odd reason I'm not digging his character choice in this drama.

My goal was to watch this when it was completed but I jumped the gun and started watching before it's done. The worse thing was that I made it to episode 10 before I realized that was the last one until the others aired. Stopping the drama and going back to it made it worse.

The first few episodes almost made me drop this. Here's why: the comedic elements at times were just too over the top. When it tries too hard to be funny it's usually not.

The second ML. who played as the cop who got let go. He started off promising but ended up looking like a weak slow witted chicken. I don't care for characters like that.

The other supporting male lead who had the green hair...that is truly disturbing to look at because he don't look right.

Now to the main FL...O....M....G....I really hate ragging on female Korean actresses but it can't be helped. When she entered on to the scene they made her look bad a** and I was digging it. I was thinking finally another female Korean actress who can fight and is tough....Nope...she is turning out to be that love sick dimwitted female I've come to despise! The fact that she constantly bullies the main ML and is constantly arresting him for no reason makes my blood boil! If that's not police brutality I don't know what is. Plus I'm a bit confused...In a flashback she's younger than the main ML. Now all of a sudden they're like the same age but she looks way older than the main ML! Her annoying sense of duty makes me want to punch her in her botox looking lips!!!

When I went back to watching, episode 11, I can't decide if I want to watch the rest of this drama. I am curious as to who the guilty culprit is but all of the over the top comedic scenes and the annoying main FL is making it easier for me to skip the rest. I also can pretty much deduce the last episode will most likely be a let down anyway. Last episodes of Korean dramas usually are.

I knew I wasn't going to be interested in watching this when I saw the trailer and it turns out I was right.

Maybe it was because of the color swatch the director decided to use or having the plot all over the place, either way to me this movie was poorly done.

There was no inspiration in any of the characters none what so ever. There was a lack of character development in all the characters that was in this movie. It was like they were just there to do their role and their role only.

As I mentioned before the plot was all over the place. The 'who' 'what' 'when' 'where' 'why' and 'how' had me so confused. It started off rocky and ended that way. Plus I was disappointed at the ending. Why have a certain character go through all of what he went through only to have it end the way it did.

All in all I was disappointed that I wasted over a hour and a half watching this. Even the lack of fighting scenes wasn't impressive and that's what drew me to this movie in the first place. It stated it was filled with action and there were sparse action scenes throughout.

Sometimes I just need to trust my instincts and move on.

Disappointing to say the least

Well, I'm definitely not happy about this drama. When I saw who the second ML was I just knew I would be in for a treat. The dramas I've seen Cha Tae Hyun has been a treat for me even though he was in only one episode in Cafe Minamdang I enjoyed that episode because of how well he played his role.
I get attached to anybody who's known for their martial art skills. I don't know why but I've always been that way ever since I was a kid.

The episodes I've watched so far has left me feeling so underwhelmed. The one thing that grates my nerves is actors who can actually fight pretending that they can't. Cha Tae Hyun played a dim wit and I hate characters like that. With the constant bashing by the first ML and his team pitting against him because of how 'cool, suave, and sophisticate' the main ML was got to be pretty irksome. I was so disappointed in what I was watching.
Each episode is different but there's no 'oomph' in none of them. There's no suspense, no build up, no element of surprise...nothing. The cases are rather dismal to say the least.
The main ML got to be annoying pretty quick. There wasn't a moment that went by where he felt the need to boast about how good looking and smart he was and how he shot down anybody who he felt wasn't on his level.

The animation of his brain picking up something that could be solved and his fake snapping of his fingers annoyed the heck out of me. This was done on numerous occasions in every episode. I could go on and on but that will just lead me to sounding like a crabby old a** which dramas like this leads me to be.

I'm so angry at this supposedly police drama right now. I even fell for the positive reviews! I said out loud that this needs to be dropped but I tried to stretch it out because I don't have any other Korean dramas lined up. There will be sequels to the other dramas that I've watched so I guess I'm going to have to wait for that.

It seems to me Korea don't know how to portray thrillers really well. This is the second thriller I couldn't finish.

The characters in this were so unconnected that it made it hard to watch. There was no emotion in everyone's acting ability. It was all just flat. The so-called bad guy smiled too much. I guess he tried to play this really creepy bad guy but the constant fake smiling messed it up for me.

The story line wasn't interesting because some of the characters they named literally had the same first and middle name so I couldn't tell who was who after the mid second episode. Plus the captions were off. Some translations were-well-lost in translations. I had to rewind a few times just to check to see if I had read what I read was right.

Dead plot, dead emotions, no connections with any of the cast, and the uninspiring previews led me to say I couldn't take it anymore. I don't understand how it got so many high marks.

Slow

The first half of The Glory came at a very slow pace. I thought the second half would pick up but it continued to be slow as well.

At first the main FL came off as a stalker to me. The way she talked about her tormentor didn't sit well with me. Yeah, they really captured the most heinous bullying ever but I wish there was a stronger sense of revenge than there already was.

I thought the main FL was going to pick off her tormentors one by one but they got off truly light. The second FL who was the main bully didn't get enough 'just deserts' for me. I don't know what I was expecting but I wasn't expecting a slow mediocre burn.

I didn't feel any sympathy for the main FL because in my opinion if you can't at least pick up an object and use it then you deserve what you get. How on earth could these people who got bullied not stand up for themselves?? I was expecting them to rally together and do what needed to be done. Again, it didn't happen. Some of the tormentors got off light, some were helped and in the end two were forgotten.

I did however love Ms. Kang and her small justice in the end.

The last episode as usual was a let down for me. There was too much unnecessary stuff going on. I wanted to see the guy who killed that doctor get what he deserved but it barely happened.
The way it ended made me wonder if they're going to do another sequel. If they do I hope it'll be stronger than what I just watched.

Meh

The one thing that kills Korean dramas for me is the unfinished business of bad guys. Before I get into that I will just say when part two came out I don't think I was excited as I thought I would be. It probably had to do with the romance factor of the first half which led into stupid love moments that went into the second half. For instance, a shoot out is occurring and all one did was trying to wake up his love interest who got shot. How did he miss getting shot or get injured from glass falling all over the place? This is why I stray away from dramas that have romance in it. People do dumb things for love that ruins the whole mood. I wonder how this would've been if there were no romantic scenes involved. The fact that the main ML and FL's personality was so off that their romance didn't meld well for me. For some odd reason it just reminded me of seeing my dad and step mom have kissing moments.

Also how could the female who played Tokyo get shot but then manages to go on throughout the rest of the scene looking as if she was never shot?? Or the police officer who got hit by a car make a full recovery and is able to fight off some cops in order to help the main FL get to her lover/criminal?

Now back to dealing with the bad guys...Why is it that these dramas hardly ever serve the bad guys any justice?? Each episode was over an hour so there was time to make them pay but alas, nothing happened. It was kind of a let down but after all it was about stealing money from the mint. At least the creators were on par on that front.

The end seemed like it will come out with a third installment but don't know if I will be up for the challenge on that.

If you ever watched the American version of Leverage or the Korean version of Leverage, The Player, Special Teams Unit...then you'll love this.

This drama is about a plane crash that took loved ones away unexpectedly. The subject can be really harsh for those who may have lost a loved in a plane crash. That haven't happened to me thank goodness and I hope it never will because some episodes in this drama made me forget that it wasn't real. The pain and the hurt were really there. The first few episodes I really really fought back some tears. The mid part had me doing the same. Some episodes had me gritting my teeth. It was just that powerful.

The cast was awesome. I usually watch these dramas because of the type of genre that I love but when you add in cast members I'm familiar with and like that makes it even more enjoyable for me to watch.

I will say Choi Won Young who plays as Joo Hyun Gi has a disturbing look. The Vulcan hairstyle he sported made it worse. For those who's not familiar with the term Vulcan-check out the late Leonard Nemoy's hairstyle from Star Trek and see if I'm lying. He played the same character in Hello Monster which makes me believe he's a type cast meaning he gets casts as playing a social & psychopath. If you look the part, play the part. Jeong Bo Seok who played as Cha Joon Kyu as well.

I loved the way it ended. The screenwriter got it right. This is how I wish every Korean drama that I've watched would end this way.
The only thing I didn't like was that it ended and I now have to find another drama that's up to that caliber.

What A Let Down

This movie was a total let down! I know Korean movies aren't that strong and this is why....

The main male actor was stuck in some kind of camp. His father turned on his country and in order to make things right he decided to become an assassin? ? This is what I got from the first 10 minutes of the movie. I should've stopped there but I gave it the benefit of the doubt.

This movie had so many plot holes! I don't understand how they were able to complete this.

As I mentioned the main male lead was trained to be an assassin. There's no mention of his training none whatsoever. They just show him in a camp then he has an adoptive family who knows he's an assassin because I'm guessing they were assassins too or just crooked step parents...I couldn't figure it out because they get killed and there's no mention why.

The main lead finds out he has a sister...this came from out of nowhere as well. He tries to rescue her but is wanted by the police because they want to send him back because his father was a spy... Everyone around him dies....it's just a whole mess.

I tried to explain this the best way that I could but this is how the movie was-a big jumbled mess. There was nothing promising about this movie! Absolutely nothing. I believe this is about the 4th Korean movie I've ever seen and it makes me want to steer clear of Korean movies for some odd reason. And for the life of me I don't understand how some reviewers gave this high marks because it didn't deserve any!

So I finished watching this and decided that it was a good watch. Some episodes were really slow. I usually binge on Kdramas if they keep me interested but I found myself watching maybe about 2 episodes a day because of the slowness at times.

In my opinion the series picked up about the 13th episode but it kind of fizzled on the last episode.

Coming up on my 1 year anniversary of watching Kdramas I've learned how the episodes work. I've enjoyed a lot and dropped a few. I was going to drop this one but I gave it the benefit of the doubt.

There are about 4 cast members from both series which I loved. From the comments on those who watched both series but enjoyed the second cast better than the first I will have to say I liked all of the casts from both seasons. Each brought their own style and everybody could fight which was even better. There wasn't a weak one in the bunch like the usual. I liked the two cops who were always partnered together. The female was strange but I liked her because she was tough. I also liked the fact that there wasn't that fluffy romance that makes me want to grab a hurl bag. I hate that kind of stuff and that didn't happen here.

I got tired of the main bad guy real quick. The constant grinning got on my everlasting nerve! I remember him from Hidden Identity and couldn't stand the 'I don't care' facial expression. I know he can't help the way he look but I wasn't too fond of him in either series.

Both Mrs. Cop 1 & 2 held their own. The premise was almost the same but it carried differently which still worked.

The last episode just didn't do it for me. I don't know what I was expecting but there was too much fluff and the closure I was expecting happened real fast towards the very end.

Even still, this drama filled my void for a few days. Now it's time to find another one to binge on, lol.

Get out your cups of ramen and ear plugs because one is going to have you craving for noodles and the other will have you wanting to plug in your ears!

I've been heavily into Korean dramas because they're portrayed very well. I ended up dropping one Chinese drama and was angry that I watched a 40 episode drama only to find out it won't finish that series.

This is about the fourth Japanese drama that I've watched. I dropped more Japanese dramas than I have Korean dramas though.

I did enjoy this but the constant over comedic scenes, the screeching singing, the meowing of a cat, the 'fantastic and side tongue' became annoying real quick. Those were the few reasons that almost made me drop this.

I love revenge dramas like this. Even though I found the main character to be highly annoying at times I liked how cleverly skilled he was. The bad thing about this series were the plots. They weren't that extravagant but they still somehow made the series work.

I would've given this a higher score but the last two episodes were a huge let down for me. Even though it caught me off guard it just wasn't capitalized the way it needed to be. The last episode was just too political and there was too much talking.
It was like they pulled a excerpt from the Korean dramas by not ending the last episode right.

It looks like I'm just going to have to stick to the Korean dramas instead.
