The story is set in the desert, and focuses on the characters of about 6 people, and their responses to the circumstances they encounter. There is quite a lot of dialogue, some great fight scenes (some with supernatural elements) and very consistent mysteries that lure you to the next episode to try to piece together the puzzle.

For me it was one of the best dramas of 2026, and the best wuxia so far. Xin Zhi Lei and Gao Wei Guang, didn't disappoint and Chen Kun impressed me immensely. All the characters were fully-fledged and not once did I feel like taken out of my immersion in the story.

The cinematography and audio/background music were 10/10, particularly in the fight scenes. These are the kind of things that operate on you subconsciously without knowing why you're sitting on the edge of your seat or why your dopamine levels have just risen. This is probably the strongest quality of this series.

I dare say this will be one of the few dramas I watch again in order to better understand the characters.

If you are a fan of the actors, a fan of unique and beautiful landscapes, or a fan of a bit of action and a slice of the unknown, I'd recommend giving this drama a go.
