The whole point of this show is meeting new people too and moving on from their exs
But if no new couple formed and only the exs got back together. The show loses its meaning 📉
So basically i think the production team probably told them to act like at least they still dating

seeing baekhyun i realized a guy can like 2 girls at the same time, it is possible and in this case you cant help it. one person is your past who still haunts you, you try to avoid it deny it but its still present and those feelings dont go away
other person is new but makes you laugh you have a good time, there is no hint of anxiety over here because they never had a past therefore nothing to worry about (safe option) whereas ur previous love who even after 5 years still is hard to forget you keep a water bottle which this person gave you even after 5 years ( very unhinged=shows u basically never got over them)

Everyone saying wk doesnt have ANYY feelings for jiyeon but i dont think thats right. 1.He clearly mentions after one of their dates in interview that it was the first time his heart fluttered after JH 2. When jihyeon asked him when they were sitting on the bench he refused to answer her implying that obvi he did have some attraction to jiyeon... its just that that attraction is nothing compared to the feelings hes felt for jihyeon i mean they were about to get married .

despite their differences in personality he was wanted to marry her (within not even a year of them being in a relationship). It showcases how strongly he felt for her and regretted their parting ways that even after months after their break up he couldnt forget her (gave her bday present)

And now seeing her with other guys he is again realizing how much he still hasnt forgetten her and now whatever little he felt for jiyeon has completely OVERPOWERED by his feelings for jihyeon.
