I honestly don't know if I've ever been this entertained by a BL show. This drama just delivers everything. Interesting…
I have to admit, I’m getting the same flashbacks with you, and no matter how much I try to convince myself not to think about it and just enjoy the series, I can’t help worrying that we’re going to get a repeat of The On1y One 😩
I really want to read novel too, maybe after drama ends. may I ask if novel is very toxic?
I wouldn’t call it toxic. Not really. Their relationship is actually very beautiful. It’s just that since one of them is a Triad leader, of course a lot of messy and difficult things happen in their lives. It’s sooo good, one of the best I've read in years. And of course I’d recommend reading it after the series is finished rather than right now, since it’s quite different from the show.
I have to give a huge shoutout to this production and everyone involved in it. Honestly, this is the first time in my life that I’ve watched an adaptation of a novel that strays so far from the original story and adds so many new scenes, yet I can’t find a single thing that bothers me. On the contrary, each new episode keeps raising the bar even higher. Even though the events unfold differently compared to the novel, the main actors have done such an incredible job bringing their characters to life. It’s genuinely impressive. I’m especially amazed by and really admire how well He Chang Xi portrays Chusan. But in today’s episode, Xe Yan Zhao completely blew me away. He was absolutely flawless and truly matched the outstanding performance of He Yan Zhao. In this episode, it honestly felt like I could see all the thoughts and insecurities I read about in the novel reflected on his face. They’re all exceptional. I have no words. They’ve truly moved me 💛
They met when Chusan was 21 and Liuyi 24. Up to episode 6 they should be 23 and 26.
He died at 35, I think. The novel has an extra story about him from when he was 21 until his death. It was so good that I wish they would make a spin off out of it 😁
They met in 1989, in episode 6 they should be around 1991-92.
I’m a bit confused about the show, since a lot of things weren’t in the novel and some events happen a bit differently. As I said before, I think it’s set around 1991 up to episode 6, since Chusan already has a job.
I honestly feel sorry for Liuyi, he's so sincere about "helping" Chusan 😂P.S. If that's the "black…
Liuyi is so innocent, he has no idea what’s about to hit him 😂 Actor He is going to take him down before he even knows what’s happening! Honestly, I don’t get why people call Chusan a red or black flag. I personally love him. At worst I’d say he’s a yellow flag. Maybe it’s just me, I’ve seen so many black flag characters that Chusan feels pretty tame in comparison 😅
Thanks!

Just sending you the teaser for tomorrow’s episode. Looks like we were both wrong 😅 They’ve changed the story a lot.
