Title Sammy's Children's Day Spoiler
I've loved how the series is different from the novel but today I was looking forward to when Liuyi got to know…
I agree. And the fact that the series doesn’t show his past means we also don’t get the real reason he struggles so much to start a relationship with Chusan. In the show it feels like he doesn’t even know he’s gay, and like he never realized from the beginning that Chusan was into him. Even though I also prefer the novel’s Liuyi, I still enjoy the lighter version of the character we see in the series, and I already love both of these actors 💛

How could you read the mtl, I give up after chapter 4 🤣https://futiledevices.blog/chusans-liuyi-childrens-day/This…
I get it. Read it from here too, it has all the extra chapters that aren’t included in the MTL translation. I think you’ll appreciate it even more 💛

Title To My Shore
Sure, that's a pretty good reason to skip a show... You make a good decision, it's surely not for you, you probably…
Sis, they can watch whatever they like, I couldn’t care less. The issue is that this specific comment is extremely disrespectful toward one of the actors. And honestly, I’m really tired of seeing such shallow comments all the time.

Who are the ”lameos” exactly?
I know, right? We got the very first live omegaverse adaptation, and a pretty good one too, and still had to deal with comments like that from people who clearly didn’t even understand that the story takes place in a fictional world with its own rules!
What can you do, I try not to pay attention to those kinds of comments either, but it’s hard not to get annoyed, especially when they start insulting you just for liking dark romance.
Ah, now that we’re talking about it, I really miss the boys, Hua Yong and Fan Xiao 🥹 (Honestly, I miss To My Shore every single day 😅). I guess it’s time for a rewatch for the fourth or fifth time 🤣

Who are the ”lameos” exactly?
A Round Trip to Love is getting a new adaptation??? OMG 🥹
Even I found the novel a bit too much 🤣
I wasn’t active here when ABO Desire was airing, but I remember the comments on To My Shore. Honestly, while I get that it’s not a series for everyone, it drove me crazy how they were insulting everyone who loved the show just because Fan Xiao is the blackest of the black flags. I even remember reading posts on Reddit where people were saying Hua Yong assaulted Sheng. IN AN OMEGAVERSE STORY! 🤣🤣🤣

So… only one episode left 😭
After today’s episode, I can honestly say there’s no way they’re not going to leave the story unfinished. Maybe even less than halfway done.
Even though they once again played it dirty and left the kiss for the end, I really liked that today we finally saw some progress with the gang storyline.
My only complaint is that it feels like we’re getting a repeat of The On1y One 😞
I truly hope for a miracle and that we get a second season, so we can actually see the full story of Chusan and Liuyi on screen.
I love them soooo much 😭

Who are the ”lameos” exactly?
Haha! Ugh, you have no idea how much these people annoy me. And not because they take everything so personally, that’s their right, I’m not about to sit there explaining to everyone the difference between real life and fiction. But I can’t stand it when they wag their finger at those of us who enjoy a good series, even if it includes something like assault, acting like they’re somehow superior or better just because they refuse to watch that kind of content 🤢
Or when they assume we’re so stupid that by watching ugly or even abusive behavior, we somehow endorse it.

I like to watch behind the scenes of this drama. Pretty sure the actors and crew had some really funny moments…
The OST playlist from the series has been playing nonstop all day every day for weeks. The songs are some of the best I have ever heard in any show and I am honestly starting to fall in love with Cantonese 🫠

Hey! So the drama and the novel follow the same general story, but the timeline is handled quite differently.
In the novel, everything develops more slowly and over a longer period, especially the relationship. In the drama, things happen much faster, and some moments that come later in the novel are moved earlier.
There are also some changes. The drama adds a few scenes that do not exist in the novel, while some scenes from the novel are shown in a different way or happen under different circumstances.
For example, Chusan’s dream about the rooftop kiss does not exist in the novel. Also, in the novel, Chusan never kissed Liuyi while he was asleep on the day they went to his late sister’s an Azure Dragon's house. There are also many other changes like this, but it would take me a long time to list them all, and I probably would not remember everything anyway.
You should read the novel, it's a gem 💛

Title Affinity Spoiler
I just finished it and I’m still trying to process the fact that the missing element for the antiviral drug was helium. Not that the rest of the series made much sense, but this completely broke me 🤣
I totally recommend it though, it was entertaining from start to finish.
A solid 8/10 from me.

Honestly, the show really does stand on its own so far, so I don’t think you’ll feel like you’re missing something even if it’s condensed. The only thing is that the timeline is quite different from the novel, so I genuinely can’t picture how they’re going to wrap everything up in the end. At this point it kind of feels like it might go for an open ending, based on the way it’s been unfolding.

It differs quite a bit from the novel, both in terms of events and timeline, but the series is honestly almost just as worth it. And from the way things are going, it looks like in the next two episodes they won’t even have covered half of the book. I really can’t think of any way they could fit even half of the remaining important events from the novel into just two episodes. So maybe they are planning a second season? I have no idea. There are rumors that there might be one, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet, and personally, unless I see an official announcement, I am not going to let myself get my hopes up. Still, I will say it again, the series is definitely worth watching. And that is coming from someone who absolutely loved the novel. I think I would have liked to see a more faithful adaptation, but even so, the series is so good that it would be a shame to miss it if you enjoyed the novel.

So… unfortunately, I couldn’t find any of her other works in English. She hasn’t written many novels, and the only one that is well-known and translated is this one.

Yeah, out of all the translations of the novel I’ve found, this one is by far the best. It even includes explanations and everything. The people who worked on it did a really great job.
Unfortunately, I don’t know! It’s the first book of hers I’ve read, and I probably wouldn’t have even discovered it if it wasn’t for the series. But now that you mention it, I’ll definitely look into whether she has or any of her other works have been translated. If I find anything, I’ll send it to you!

Thanks 💛
I have to say though, especially with these kinds of dynamic couples, I would love to see them switch roles more often. Why does it always have to be one top and one bottom?
When I read that particular chapter from the extras, I was honestly shocked. But I absolutely loved that development.
I finished it about two weeks ago and now I’m rereading it. I’m completely hooked, it’s one of the best danmei novels I’ve read in recent years.
Also, on Wattpad not all the extra chapters are translated. I think there were four or five missing the last time I checked. Take a look here for the rest, especially the last one. It’s really good and includes the story of Xia Zheng Zhing and A Ying in an alternative universe.
