Isn't it absurd that (a goddess) has to steal someone else's body? The story weakens, because the face wouldn't be hers for real. It wouldn't be her (and all the weird and annoying moments related to that were in the book). And in the drama they solved that. If she is a goddess she can have a human body of her own, with her own face. That made much more sense and is much more acceptable in the plot (and solves a lot of problems related to that that was in the book). The fact that she dies is the least of it for me, since she comes back to life. The main problem was solved.

Im now at ep 33.. Omgeee.. This drama really showcased liu xueyi acting skills well which we had a glimpse in love and redemption and the destiny of white snake... I mean his full potention..this kind of chracter with depth reaaly suit him well.. It not wasted.. This kind of liu xueyi tht ive been waiting for..
