At that moment, Lin Jin Qi realized it was Lan Xiang on stage and was taken aback, though the two did not meet or even lock eyes. Later, Lin Jin Qi made a sudden appearance at Scholar Han’s home, finding him with his mother and a matchmaker who was arranging a marriage between Jia Lam and the scholar (though his arrival was ill-timed and only deepened the sorrow of Jia Lam’s father). Lin Jin Qi somewhat unnerved Scholar Han, who could see his intentions written in his eyes—after all, the two men were rivals for Jia Lam’s heart.
