I had such a strong ick of Yanagida from the get-go and now that he's gone, I can breathe a sigh of relief for Mishima.

Terrible is subjective. I liked it; so, I guess I'm weird? Oh, who cares, let people like what they want to like and dislike what they want to dislike.

Nobody is calling it a BL. Imo, it's a gore filled fest with some gay moments between a few characters. Nothing something to get worked up over it, though. Just remember: that all of the stuff shown is fictional, i.e.: not real and shouldn't cause you harm. Although, it can't be said for everyone, in this case, since I'm unfazed by movies/dramas like this. I've seen far too many real life shit that truly traumatized me.

You pretty much nailed it in one sentence. It feels like a fetish thing because, well, it is. The enjoyment of gore, as well as murder, in this case, is some sort of fetish. In this case, however, with all of the blood, guts, and murder; it is summed up as Erotophonophilia, which is also called 'lust murder'.
I, for one, do enjoy movies/dramas that involve gore; but do I get off to it? Nope.

Truthfully, I don't see it as a BL movie, so it's all good. It's more of a.. gore fest filled with some gay scenes(well, one "sex" scene and some kisses), imo.

Movie version is calling my name right now...
