I really liked it, but I feel like I missed why they killed his dad. I know he was connected to the casino, but…
This was how the author had written it in the book too, just a couple of lines to explain with no further impactful outburst or scenes as to why he was killed, or in that particular way too. It was almost like they didn’t care much about him but gave Chief Tak the father figure credit.
someone please explain to me how their parents case was connected to the other cases? I also don’t understand…
For those still confused after all that.
1. Russian guy murder from ep 1-2, Taeseon specifically mentioned the needle mark. They found out that he died not because of that injection OJH gave him but a burst bag of drugs still left in his stomach. Either Chief Tak and Song DNA was found on the glove accidentally dropped at crime scene when they dumped the body. I think they called for OJH to do a breathalyser for some reason? I don’t remember the specifics they had to kill this guy sorry. Something to do with drug trafficking in Russia I think somewhere in ep 3?
2. Grandma overkill stabbing case from 7 years ago, Taeseon gave that huge stack of files from the past 10 years before the heated kiss scene from ep 2 to Chaeha likely knowing he would catch on to that case that seems similar to his father’s case. Chaeha theorised that the murder weapon, an awl, is not the actual murder weapon but swapped, left there as a ‘signature’ kill. They found out this grandma is OJH ex OB-GYN who delivered the secret ‘aborted’ baby.
3. Murdered husband whom was stabbed before and was so afraid, he dulled all the knives down from the tip in ep 5-6. They got CCTV footage showing OJH at a shop asking for a knife to be dulled. Man’s wife stabbed Chaeha. I also don’t remember the details for this one either, I think the wife stabbed the husband for insurance money? Not sure, I think the man has contacts with Chief Tak?
4. OJH deceased husband was found dead from ‘cardiac arrest’ around the same time as the grandma. Chief Tak stole anaesthetics from a poorly handled case he covered up years ago hence Taeseon was able to find it bc he was looking into what cases he worked on. OJH used the anaesthesia to kill her husband bc he found out she had a child with Chief Tak and went to find the grandma so she silenced them all. Anaesthesia does not show up 12 hours after being given so his death was written as cardiac arrest.
5. Taeseon father murder case with an awl, stabbed excessively, his son heard the door open 4 times and passcode entered twice. LGY was convicted due to his DNA being found on the weapon and the son heard him come in, they concluded this is like the murdered husband case with the swapped weapon and watermelon chopping thing with the blood accidentally being on that knife. LGY had also told Chaeha about a sum of money.
6. Prosecutor Yoon twin sister who investigated into that case with Taeseon but somehow ended up killed. She hasn’t appeared much, she likely investigated up to Chief Tak and was silenced.
Taeseon father is a casino owner, LGY is his driver, OJH wants to have a position in the casino but can’t bc her grandfather wouldn’t let her as she was dating Chief Tak, a man with a scandal of killing his own sister. The grandfather sent Chief Tak of to Russia.
Ultimately, they silenced everyone who knew they had an affair and the son as to not threaten her position/inheritance of the grandfather. This is not explained properly unfortunately.
Taeseon’s father was killed bc he blocked OJH way for the casino and LGY took the blame for it.
They did seem to be investigating other cases in between with the cases on the desk but it’s not really shown.
A HE ok, lets talk about the ending. I think they deliberately did this not only bc of the time but also bc the…
actually everything else was fine, you know why they rewrote the scenes that way, but there’s one thing I’m a little disappointed about and that was the awl.
the prosecutor coincidentally deduced the awl used to murder his father was in Chief Tak’s sister’s urn. I’ve been too spoiled and wished they sort of didn’t do this and the book version was actually better.
it was buried in a garden, and like what Chaeha was deducing from the earlier eps, the awl was really swapped. it was a screwdriver sharpened at the tip to look like an awl and chief tak cleaned it so well that they had to disassemble it in order to find blood residue to convict him.
ok, lets talk about the ending. I think they deliberately did this not only bc of the time but also bc the author wrote it cliffhangered like that. you don’t get the sentencing, or anything to do with the indictment of the perps only after the side story came out two years later so it looks abrupt.
Still don’t understand why the father is looking for pure omega. Nahkun already has Phatsa and Nahkin has fallen…
good question! all 3 brothers has a love interest with 2 of them being omegas. someone in the comments suggested the father might be involved in whatever issue Nakhun was dealing with and I think this could be very possible. he seems to specifically be looking for the rare ‘pure omega’ and not just any omega. he could just be a traditionalist who wants powerful enigma grandchildren to simply benefit his company and life, or he could be doing shady things, like the comment suggesting trafficking, none of the previews or pilot trailer has given any hints about this, idk maybe book readers can give us some??
A tip: scroll up and click on the Episodes tab. It will tell you exactly which episodes will be released and on…
no, this is only available on the web, the mobile web is the only way to access on mobile not the app unfortunately.
you can’t see the countdown either, you would have to check the schedule tab as to when which drama airs, depending on your Timezone, it could be on today’s or tomorrow’s tab.
I don’t find it too boring, but after the Royal Romours cp, seeing Changqing pinning over Shen Xi He is like AU of that except you know they can never be endgame + it’s a bit annoying how he just has a lantern lit and wouldn’t get the memo lol. They (the actor and actress) already have chemistry in my books but she (the character) really doesn’t like him. I say the crown prince is a different flavour (ie more ‘healthy’/powerful/she chooses) as oppose to enemies to lovers/arranged marriage of Changqing.
ikr i had never scene a proper war scene in POJ it had potential but they didnt ...atleast here i got to see
The First Jasmine also had a good opening war scene but lacked at the very end when he went out to war after curing his legs which was a little worse than Pursuit of Jade for this year.
If I was Phatsa, I would've ran to the nearest GUM clinic to get tested for STIs 😰 because wdym my "fated…
he said it was long ago but he said it in passing at that exact moment after sex?? 👀
it’s everywhere! the good ole plot where the gong is super experienced and the shou is a virgin, gay or not. it’s getting real annoying to see it still be used as plot device for miscommunication tropes.
Ugh I'm not even finished yet and I need a longer more fleshed out season 2 where they're solving cases every…
except Shen Yi turned from a criminal portrait profiler into somewhat of a criminal psychologist in S2 🤣 people were really theorising if he was going to turn into the dark side back then.
it would be very interesting and fun if Chaeha elevated his skills from being an investigator. (he was assigned different cases to investigate from Taeseon, and had thoughts about what he would do when the prosecutor has to be reassigned somewhere else since he can’t take office in the same place after a certain amount of time in the book).
he fed him twice! that scene was so moving that he said he could feel the brotherly bond between them and that it’s been a long damn time. 😭😭
Hua Yong: Thank you, ge! 👀
The wife far away: 👀💀
Is this the power of wontons?? 🤣🤣

I really do need that new English ost to drop.
my thoughts on ep 9 & 10 in spoiler

just 5 weeks of airing and it’s already ending, shorter than most bl. I’m not ready to see Taeseon breaking down. 😭😭
