The Lady in the Butcher House is the only drama I personally watched with a butcher lady. It’s more of a toned down version to PoJ, focusing on business and court politics. Essentially, imagine if FCY and SY (the scholar, her ex betroth) were actually married. the ml in TLitBH is the same actor who played as uncle wuju alongside fan xian in Joy of Life.
why am i seeing talks about yu qianqian being a transmigrator? is it canon?
I chalked it up to the author liking the transmigration trope so much bc most of their other books are about it that they slipped it into this one lol. It’s a little misplaced but yh, she is.
Funfact: the audio drama on MaoerFM is also gaining traction. topping on some categories and first page 🔥
it’s only s1 so idk if it’s actually completed but I did have a listen to the preview and it seems pretty good. unlike the drama, the famous kiss slap is audioed like the book but still have no emphasis on the biting. 😂
idk how close it sticks to the book tho. for people who know Chinese or obsessed fans who doesn’t mind google translating. fair warning: you have to be prepared to navigate the site and work around things.

anything historical costume mentions the dam at some point. it doesn’t matter if it’s the leads or opposing generals, someone wants to use the dam or river to flood places as political tactics. 😂 I remember the villain from Destined, in the book, he had allied with external enemies and planned plus actually built the dam alongside the ml (GJS) and rigged it with explosives but they managed to prevent that whilst the drama had rewritten that part as purely GJS rebuilding the dam using the villain’s proposal plan. but I agree, that scene was very nice. I had actually hoped it would’ve been bigger and messier like reality.

I am in love with that one scene XZ fought along side his subordinates to catch Ningniang when she was tossed in the air and about to be piked and then he sustains an injury. she is finally reunited, and how all those men took care of her.
