this book is really popular and well loved and the author has written a lot of other novels that are also well loved. the novel that the double is based off of was written by her, there’s also two other dramas based off her works that are supposed to be airing soon (the glory + the legend of the female general).

for me, this is by far the best drama of the year and now one of my all time favorites. i’m having withdrawals since it ended. i can’t get over it. 😭 i just keep watching clips and bts and videos of the cast. 😭 i miss them so much 🥹🥹🥹

probably the most tragic ending of any drama i’ve ever seen. i cry every time i think about it. finally gathered the courage to rewatch it again bc it’s so incredibly beautiful and wonderfully made. the modern part 2 is considered the happy ending.
i gotta say everyone’s acting is so good in this, i’m really impressed but i gotta say ding yu xi is absolutely nailing it. i’ve always thought he was an amazing actor bc he always pulls off each roll well i feel like and really embodies his characters and his facial expressions and even micro expressions are just *chefs kiss*, but i feel like this is his best role yet. im so impressed by the acting, i honestly feel like he fits the role perfectly and i can’t imagine anyone else playing mu sheng. kudos to the makers of this show for casting him!!! absolutely perfect pick!!!!

it is extremely funny and i highly recommend this show!! it’s by far my favorite show of the year 🥹🫶🏻 as for whether to start it now or wait, all i can say is i chose to start it and im going insane having to wait for new episodes 😭
