I didn't have any strong feelings about Song Yi's character in 'Destined' and actually dropped that drama because…
i’ve seen her in follow your heart, daybreaker and luoyang and i personally think she’s done a good job in them so i recommend (all good shows too! haven’t finished follow your heart but i plan to!). i will say some people found her character annoying in luoyang because she repeats a lot of the same line, but that’s on the scriptwriter not her 😅she does an excellent job though despite that and was actually my favorite character in that show lol.
i think this might be cheng lei’s best role yet. i’m in awe of his versatility and it’s so cool to see him have different personalities here and pulls them off so well!!! idk how to word it but properly, but he has so many different expressions on his face here and it’s so impressive to me. it’s like it comes naturally and he IS the character and it’s his actual life. idk if i’m making sense. i’ve always thought he’s done in a good job in other things i’ve seen him him, but this role has me seriously impressed. he seriously deserves so many awards for this performance.

got quite some differences but maybe you’d like the princess and the werewolf? it’s also got fantasy elements and male lead has transformations he hides from female lead and gets close to her with different identities. male lead also has incredible powers
