Episode 7: Having a little trouble following the cases...for an entire episode, I had Tak and Song confused when our heroes were discussing them. lol That said, I could do with less focus on the sleuthing and more on the romance. I have Korean/JP/HK/TW thrillers for murder and all that other tasty stuff. Precious minutes are being wasted here on "Murder She Wrote"/"Perry Mason"-type activities, when our boys could be going at it.
Chaeha and Taeseon are smokin' hot together. Kbls seem to be consistently breaking through the dead fish kiss barrier to the real thing on the other side. About damn time. I find Song alluring as well. He came off goofy at first, but I like his face/smile.
Taeseon does petty jealousy so butch: "I don't want to be held by a man who has been waving happily at another man." lol
Ainosuke: "I'm not really into guys." Also Ainosuke: Scrolling through Grindr on the subway and begging a man to diddle his butt. :)
I love the vibe of this show, which unabashedly acknowledges the historically documented tradition of attraction between younger and older gay men As long as no one is being coerced, this is a beautiful thing. One is naive and inexperienced; the other is well-educated, with 20 years of experience. What combination could be more natural and mutually beneficial?
Ainosuke (Why isn't he named Anus-uke?) is 100% adorable, and Hideaki is interestingly handsome. The contrast is beautiful.
The reason he gives for wanting to bottom for a guy is unreal and not possible. He will never have an internal…
lol He is referring to stimulation of the male prostate gland, which sits under the bladder and in front of the rectum. This gland can be stimulated by an inserted finger, and as Ainosuke discovered, by the love shaft of an experienced older man who knows what he's doing. :) Some men are indeed able to achieve orgasm and ejaculation as a result of this stimulation, with no stimulation of the erect penis.
It's cute that you pretend to know what you're talking about, but you don't.
Inez: "...well sweetie I would write a long loving reply like yours but I'm not that free..." Also Inez: Writes long, loving reply demonstrating that she is, indeed, that free.
As for the rest, it's all the same stubborn-ass BS. Yes, Inez, if someone touched my thigh (like most normal humans, I like having my thighs touched, especially by anyone as hot as KK), they should totally potentially go to prison for ten years. Yes, that was the potential prison term Kamimura Kenshin faced for touching a thigh. Absurd.
Bitch should have thrown a drink in his face and called security to throw him out...end of story. If, that is, the alleged, massively traumatizing thigh touch even took place, which I doubt. But then, she wouldn't have the satisfaction of taking down a rising star and likely getting a big payday by suing him for, you know, inflicting PTSD on her with his major crime of touching her thigh.
The rest of your reply is hogwash, so I'll leave it at that.
Oh, and no matter how much attention-seeking, faux outrage you express here, Kenshin isn't going to text or call you, and he is never going to touch your skanky thigh. Nor, I suspect, will anyone else.
omg...I'm so sorry that happened to you.In my own way I know what that might have been like for you.In college,…
Thanks. You know, if someone feels they need to end a relationship, be it best friends or lovers, the least they could do is tell you their reason, which would help you find closure. It sounds like pure cruelty Maybe she was getting off on that feeling of power, which is really sick, but people can be unfathomable.
I totally get how that could still haunt you all these years later.
That opening scene told me I was in the right place. :D 15 minutes once a week is a pain in the (Ainosuke's) ass, though. May try to wait to binge after it airs.
I enjoy unapologetically risque JP BLs.
Grown man Hideaki to Ainosuke: "I like young boys." MDL Church Ladies to each other: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, how can it be?! You are disgusting, sick, twisted, and a pedophile!!!! Hideaki to MDL Church Ladies: "Watch while I put my grown man finger in this young boy's pooper, losers."
Episode 4 broke my heart. It reminded me of a friendship (just a friendship, in my case) that disappeared literally…
omg...I'm so sorry that happened to you. In my own way I know what that might have been like for you.
In college, I had a seriously intense, closeted gay romance. He dumped me without a word of warning or explanation. What made it doubly painful was that since no one knew about us and I was at a conservative school, there was nobody I could vent to. For about four months I was in a dark, dark place. Worst of all, he was still there, and this was a small college so I saw him all the time. He treated me as an acquaintance. I should have killed him. :P :)
Again, I am sorry you went through that. But your friend literally disappeared, from sight as well as from your friendship? That is unspeakably cruel.
Episode 4: Damn, that's cold. But at least something interesting finally happened. It would be refreshing if, in a BL, one of the MC did something like this and there was no magical explanation that cleared everything up; that they were dumped and that's just the way it is, as IRL.
Seems to me there have been a lot of Jbls like this, which aren't terrible but which aren't great either. Not bad enough to drop, not good enough to rave about. If this disappeared from airing, I wouldn't much care.
Episode 8: This pisses me off. So far, there's only ONE significant gay character in this show, and the writers/director chose to present him as a shrieking, effeminate, juvenile gay stereotype. But that wasn't enough; they went the extra mile and made him gullible and stupid, as, you know, all we gay men are.
He was perfectly straight-presenting until he got a look at Vincenzo and melted into a disgustingly naive, easily manipulated dumbass who wanted V's dick so badly that he undercut his own BANK. To top off the homophobia, we got the silly faggot being curtly disciplined and humiliated in front of the press and those in attendance at the event, by a stern, sensible mother who for some reason was presented as a Queen Elizabeth II knock-off.
If a Black/Asian/Latino character, or one from any other minority, were presented as a pile of equivalent negative stereotypes, they would have had to cut the entire subplot, as the Intertron would have exploded with rage. But five years later, this shit is still there because, you know, everyone likes to point and laugh at the silly faggot.
It gets worse: as audience members are leaving the signing ceremony, the filthy queer staggers in, hysterical, smeared with fake blood after having been terrorized by three female "zombies" in a room whose door his assailants locked behind him, all the while tittering with delight at their successful degradation of the ridiculous fudge-packer.
I found the whole thing hilarious through the horse-riding scene where they met, but then it took a deep dive into cheap laughs at the homo's expense. Vincenzo's looks of revulsion directed at his prey may have been the most mean-spirited aspect of this retro adventure in bigotry.
If I thought it would make a difference, I'd stop watching, but it won't, so I'll keep going for now.
Newsflash, people: The vast majority of gay men are undetectable as such. We are everywhere, and depending on the locale and circumstances, most straight people are clueless.
People who find the drama less than perfect and say so, aren't "HATERS!!!"
I don't really get this attitude that if another MDL member trashes a show you like, even if it's a one-word comment, then having done that is somehow a personal affront to you. This is an immature perspective.
Everyone can comment however they like here, and you or I are free to reply "F**k you" or whatever.
girl be my friend I keep finding you🤣♥️ I think our taste is same
haha Yes, I saw the notification for this comment, and wondered if you were stalking me, especially since this and that japanese bl are fairly obscure. :) Have you watched this one yet?
Were you able to get the link to that four-part JP BL to work?
Episode 7: In an episode stuffed with highlights, the gay tailor besotted with Vincenzo's "mannequin"-perfect body comes out on top...er, bottom? ;)
Wow...it's as though three different but connected half-hour films took place in the span of 90 minutes. Bravo.
omg...the French Revolution reference at the end! hahahahahahahaha... What a riot.
I almost dropped this several times during the first three episodes, but I stuck in there because I saw several commenters promising that it would all begin to be worth it in episode 4. They were correct.
Episode 6: I love when evil Kdrama characters get frustrated/angry and absolutely 100% lose their shit. The ice drains from their veins, their concrete-cool exterior falls in chunks to the floor, and they shriek like banshees, bounce off the walls, and throw expensive furniture around. The women are especially scary. They screech at high pitches I didn't know existed in the human vocal range until I found Kdramas and movies.
Watching all this is extremely satisfying.
This episode was as schizophrenic in tone as its prior five show-mates. However, now that I've settled into that groove and I'm not going "wtf?" every time a massive vibe shift happens, I seem to be getting the hang of what's happening here.
I've not seen anything like this before, that's for sure. :)
Among supporting players, Jo Han Chul as the evil law firm's CEO, is particularly entertaining. I've never seen groveling and arrogant, two opposite traits, combined so smoothly into one hilarious character.
I can't get over how handsome-in-an-evil-way Ok Taec Yeon's little brother is. Great casting.

Both halves of the MC are very good actors.

It will feel like a CH censored bromance.
If their agency wants them to do a show together, why not some kind of straight plot where they can be buddies?
In my own way I know what that might have been like for you.
