Maybe it's because of Lee Sangmin, but Love in Protocol has higher production quality than GND Studio's previous…
I enjoyed My Damn Business a lot. It's a great example of how little a small budget can matter if you have strong actors with chemistry, and at least a presentable story. The cliche I use is "heart." If a show has that, most of the work is done.
Somewhere between garbage regarding itself as high art and high art slumming as garbage. I'll need at least two more watches over the next year or so to decide where on that continuum this flick resides, so for now...5/10.
The term "Boys Love" (BL) is far too often tossed around MDL as if it were synonymous with "Gay-Themed." It is not.
Anyone who doesn't understand the difference between those terms should stay far away from this movie. It has nothing in common with "Bad Buddy." You have been warned.
Wow. I was not impressed by Kouhei Higuchi's acting in My Personal Weatherman (tbh it was likely the character's…
I agree that KH did the best he could with the script/character in MPW. I thought his acting in that was fine. I liked the show a lot at first, but after episode 2 or so it fell apart for me. I slogged through to the end.
I'm glad I saw your comment, as I wouldn't have realized that was the actor I was seeing here without checking his bio. The scene you mention above floored me, too. My impression, however, was that he was not "jokingly" telling the novelist the truth, but that it was pouring out of him almost involuntarily as he broke under the stress and heartbreak of the circumstances. It was when he tried to take it all back that he pretended to joke, but by then it was too late, of course.
Why don't the makers of episode dramas like this simply release it as a short film?

Did you find that in the Great Big Dictionary of Useless Words?
Higuchi Kouhei is phenomenal.
Glad to have stumbled across it today.

I will hunt down the novel.
