ummm...I hate to admit it, but I have seen flashes of my own past behaviors among the group of eight. I think most honest viewers will say the same.

That is part of what makes this show so powerful. Even the most revolting characters are slowly being revealed as being the way they are for perfectly human reasons. This doesn't excuse their behaviors, but it explains them and reminds me that few people are all good or all bad.

Hell, Dong Man is one of the most repulsive, unlikable characters whom I have nevertheless adored, in all my film-watching history.

Because MDL ratings are a Bizarro Universe where everything is the opposite of what it should be.

This drama has me by the throat, the tail, and the balls.
I am clutching for words to describe how I feel after this episode, which is more flabbergasted than I have been after each successive episode since the beginning.
While watching, I get goosebumps, my mouth drops open in recognition of small but also huge observations about our shared humanity.
I'm LEARNING about myself and how other people work inside, despite what I delude myself that I know from observing their outsides.
I hadn't tuned in to learn, but that's what's happening...

My favorite gem of genius, and this screenwriter IS a genius, from episode 7:
"Love is not an emotion; it is a concept."
But of course! The emotions we feel while we are in love stem from love, but they are not love itself.
Just one of several silent jaw-droppers from episode 7.
And that they're all delivered in subtle, quiet ways, not in huge, melodramatic moments, makes these revelations explode all the brighter.

Please explain how you deduced that Tutor "doesn't even like" Akira.
From all their interactions in the show, it seems clear that he likes Akira very much. He is nothing but kind, friendly, polite, and compassionate to him.
Moreover, he is upfront with Akira throughout that it is his older brother he loves. There is zero lying or manipulation going on here.
Finally, please tell me exactly when Tutor pressured Akira for sex, and how you know that information.
Have you considered it may have been Akira who initiated sex in their relationship?

Episode 1;

This is the kind of show I'll have to watch in small doses, no more than one ep at a time.
There's some potentially interesting/fun/cute shit going down, but the dubbing and overall Chinese goofiness vibe is keeping me at arm's distance.

The gay dude's open pursuit of the MC is amusing/cute, and probably the only reason I'm intrigued.

I live in the US, where police release names and photos of people upon arrest, and the media splashes their info all over the Internet/TV if they're famous. Even regular citizens' names, photos, etc. are available to the public the minute they are arrested. I have long felt this is an obvious injustice, as supposedly, we are all innocent until proven guilty.

All of this remains in the public record, even after a person is found innocent after trial. It's horrible. What a joke.

Given that my one-sided crush is straight, meaning there's no chance of that going anywhere, yes, I would absolutely be fine with having sex with his younger brother under the same circumstances as Akira/Tutor. You downplay Akira's emotional state when he came out to Tutor and vice-versa. He was desperately depressed, lonely, and possibly suicidal.

The Church Girls like to elide that Tutor did not bring any of this up. He was with Akira because of his tutoring and saw how upset he was, and they began talking. If you think Tutor talking with him, having that outlet and companionship, and Tutor sharing that he too was gay, wasn't a huge help/relief to Akira, you are kidding yourself.

Church Girls like to claim Tutor "groomed" Akira, stalking and prepping him over time in preparation for the moment he would pounce and get him in bed. They are delusional. Tutor had no idea Akira was gay and no plans to pork him. What he saw was a young man desperately sad and lonely, so he showed compassion and interest, which is much more than anyone else did. Their physical relationship grew out of all that, not the other way around.

Church Girls also forget that Tutor encouraged Akira's brother to show more interest in him and get closer to him, if he could. Is that something a groomer who wants to keep his prey isolated does? No, it is not.

I don't recall Tutor "lying" about his contact with Akira's brother. Why would he say in the last episode that he'd be over to visit his brother, if he had earlier claimed to be out of contact with him?

That is YOUR standard, not mine, and not a lot of other people's. (Who is "them?") I admire Tutor/Akira for handling their physical/emotional relationship as they did, especially in agreeing to part as friends and not be freaked out by Tutor's visits with the brother. Very adult/civilized.

Nobody lied to anybody. Tutor was open about sleeping with other men. What makes you think he doesn't know what condoms are, and that Akira doesn't know either? What makes you think they're having bareback sex, and Akira thinks they're monogamous when Tutor made clear that's not the case? How do you know Akira isn't on Prep. Why are you making stuff up?

Actually, Tutor maintaining his sleep-around habits and being open about that, was a healthy way to make it clear to Akira there would be no romance. And what if Akira caught feelings for Tutor? Well, then he would catch feelings for Tutor and they'd deal with that then. That's how life works.
