It's just that one scene though (they could've cut it out but I'm personally not complaining)
I could tell they were naked, but I don't think I even saw boobies. Then, I saw Suzuki's butt for about four seconds. "18+" within the film industry, is the designation for hard-core pornography, with erect penises, insertion, ejaculation, women's genitalia, and all manner of other explicit sexual activity. 10Dance had none of that.
A four-second shot of a bare butt and the side of a bare body is generally going to pull a PG13 rating, not an 18+, which is the equivalent of the old "X" rating, which became the kiss of death to a film.
People here get crazy about things like bare butts. It's quite...odd.
Damn, pretty freakin' epic! The Koreans, over and over again, get me enjoying flicks with settings, concepts, and themes I'd never find enjoyable in a Hollywood film.
Some Moby Dick, some Titanic, some Mutiny On the Bounty...? :D
I wish you guys know how shallow you are by always thinking that when someone complain it means they want to see…
"Go watch porn if that's what you're after" is the standard MDL response to anyone who demands that gay romance be given the same treatment as straight romance in films/series.
omg can’t you see it? they’re speaking to each other through their dance! and it’s so breathtaking to witness…
If the same characters had been presented, but one was a woman and the romance was straight, do you honestly believe their "passions" would have been sublimated to the same degree as in this film?
10Dance is not a perfect movie, but it chooses a different way of speaking—through feeling, movement, and unspoken…
Watch it for the repressed, 1950s feel of the supposed gay "romance." Watch it for the cringe half-kisses from Machieda Keita, who apparently enjoys taking gay roles he's unwilling to commit to. Watch it for the homophobic direction. Watch it for the homophobia inherent to its storytelling. Watch it for what Japan is best at: Delivering gay-but-not-really films and series.
I'm curious: Is the villain you refer to as "gay," actually gay in the film or not? Wondering what the…
I'm back, after watching the film, to express amazement that out of all that mayhem, blood, guts, and madness, your focus is on a 40-second scene involving a blowjob. That "villain" gets no other screen time, and we learn almost nothing else about him. Why can't one of many villains be gay? There are about 40 other villains in the movie.
I am the opposite of a fan of gore for gore's sake, and I found this movie to be substantially awesome, partially because it was so wildly over-the-top. The whole thing was chaotic af, just like such a mad-ass situation would be if it actually happened.
The comments of people below, looking for character development, painstaking logic, and more, who apparently can't read a synopsis, are unintentionally hilarious.
For what it is, and for not trying to be anything else: 8.5/10
Stefania, you take yourself, your screenwriting skills, and your status as an amateur film critic much too seriously.

Please don't attempt screenwriting as a profession. Your formulaic, by-the-numbers expectations for this film suggest that your own work would be in that by-the-numbers mode.

Highly recommended.
8.5/10
My rating went from 3/10 to 8/10.
Guess my tastes have changed.
Highly recommended for other weirdos, like me.
For there to be "subtext," there must first be text.
10Dance is a standard, homo-no-homo JP flick.
Machida Keita apparently enjoys taking gay roles, then refusing to commit to them.
Please, leave him out of any sequel or adaptation.

If I'm wrong, please provide links to prove your assertion.
Thanks.
"masterpiece," the most overused and meaningless word on MDL.
After posting it, I was, of course, assailed and insulted by the usual fangirls. lol Goes with the territory. :)
"Queer coding." lol
