Are there too many highschool scenes? I really cant stand unnecessary flashbacks, especially adult characters in highschool uniforms if the context really calls for it.
I stopped watching the series after that excessively violent and bloody scene at the beginning of episode 5. I really don't understand what these producers are aiming for by filming such horrific, disgusting scenes. To enjoy these scenes, people would either have to be psychopaths, cruel, devilish characters like the main villain, which is a huge problem. Or they would have to be so mentally numb that these scenes no longer bother them, which is an even bigger problem!
This drama has been in my planning to watch list for a long time because the story seemed interesting to me (not the one written here, obviously, it's way too simple). But i learned my lesson about overhyped dramas (esp. those with high MDL rating) and that is; they are mostly overrated. However, this one's an exception. I'm normally pretty good at predicting what comes next in dramas; both in terms of the story itself and even in terms of the next scene most times but for this one, couldnt predict anything. It's not like it was full of surprises or anything but it always had that "curiousity factor" that made me binge watch and finish the whole seasons in like 2-3 days. So if you're like me and think that this might be your type of drama but hesitate that it might disappoint you; im pretty sure it wont disappoint you. Ps. Dont let the first couple of episodes to change your mind, it gets better!
Why does gu-deok's servant sounds and acts like a retarded person? It's f.king annoying to watch and what's even more annoying is that it's like this in all historical dramas; most of the the lower class/servants are portrayed as dumb, immature people if not all. I'm rying hard to endure and i hope it's worth it.
If this season was longer, I would've dropped it. Because even though the episodes are not even an hour long, i found some of them pretty boring. I couldnt care less about Solomon's parts. His story didnt interest me a bit, his lack of acting skills got me cringe and he looked the fakest when speaking Japanese. So i think it would've be a lot better if they didnt use the time swapping thing because the old Sunja's time didn't serve anything new to the story either. I also didn't like the fact that we had to spend a whole hour related to LMH's character's past. I just found out now that this series has a second season so im hoping his background story will somehow have an effect somewhere other than him using an earthquake reference when talking to his kid. Overall, Sunja's life, her struggles and her victories were the only reason i stayed and will watch S2. And i gotta say, i know it's war and it's bad but it was a "war". Both sides suffered (people can argue Koreans were the ones who suffered more) but i find it hard to shed a tear for something that happened in the past when there is literally a genocide happening right the f..k now like people being starved to death, being forced to leave their OWN LAND, having to survive in tents with no food, no water let alone electricity or other basic utilities and like it's not enough, being burned alive in their sleep by israel. So, FREE PALESTINE!

So apparently i was right about the sister but who cares because it didnt have anything to do with the rest of the show just like the husband meeting with the neighbor in a hotel room and many other stupid details didnt. It's just another drama where a corrputed politician is taken down by the law in the most magnificent way possible (like live stream on huge LEDs all across country lol)
A murder case is solved after 10 years when a woman on deathbed who hasnt said a word for years says the word "tablet" and then the neighbor (who was just another useless side character) talking about it at the same time AFTER 10 YEARS WHILE THE CCTV ON HER HOUSE ACTUALLY SHOWED THE KID LEAVING THE HOUSE WITH THE DAMN TABLET IN HIS HANDS, AGAIN 10 YEARS AGO OMG its so crazy how they wrapped the story in the most stupid way and wasted people's time!
Oh and MAGICALLY the tablet had just the perfect voice recording of all the sh*t that the bad guys did just like in so many other cases people randomly AND MAGICALLY obtained other people's phone call recordings like they're the cia lmao And then we have the ML who is literally a teenage boy but got all those congressmen on a table luring them into some conspiracy against the presidential candidate (i cant even remember whether they did whatever the hell ML told them to do because i kept skipping most of the last 3 episodes).
Like i said, a huge waste of time. The ML looked annoying af, he literally had just one expression. I feel sorry everyone, including myself, who wasted their time on this show which was apparently upvoted by the ML's fans.

I dont think that "leaving the door open" is a crime big enough to put the mother behind bars but well, the story needed a reason so here we are. My theory is that the sister did went to FL's house to be with her husband (they could easily trick the kid since the kid knows her as his aunt) but when the FL turned up out of the blue, the sister had to sneak out and obviously didnt care about leaving the door shut.
As for the husband and neighbor meeting at a hotel room; i kinda think the photographer might be the neighbor or someone she is collaborating with to get revenge from the husband. The revenge might be because the neighbor has feelings for him but he didnt accept her feelings at all or, they did meet for a while and then he dumped her to be with the sister. The second makes more sense because the photo is dated to when the FL was in prison. So the revenge feeling must be new. As in the neighbor was with the husband before the killings happened, and after the FL went into prison, at some point the husband left the neighbor and got together with the sister.
I hope this drama gets more exciting and intriguing because the plot is good, otherwise it would be a shame.

As someone who always looks for logic, traces from real-life, adults being adults in dramas, this one somehow managed to hook me up and it was pretty surprising to my own self. Honestly all the crazy coincidences, childish actions of the adults (the gang members doing silly things that even 10 years olds would find embarrasing), the way they tried so hard to make the ML look scary (his father saying "you have my blood, ofc you're a bad person", or gang members gasping and clearing the way for him etc) were quite ridiculous to me but the good thing is, the drama was SO predictable that i knew exactly when the cringe parts will come so i just swithced to another tab until the cringe was over :D One more thing that bothered me was the FL being so close to 2nd ML. The love triangle was really forced and unnatural. But overall, i somehow could finish this because it was fun (not "funny" imo), most of the characters did their parts pretty well. Oh and i really wish we could see more from Ko Yang Hui, i think his role was great. And tbh he looked even more scary than the ML lol So i guess i needed something like this nowadays. 7 felt too low, 8 felt too high so it's a 7.5 for me.

First; they're not really her friends (she's an outcast). Second; Bo Yeong was nothing to her. I'd understand if she was Go Jeong Woo's girlfriend but no, she wasnt so why bother? Third; as far as i see, NG doesnt care about anyone else but herself so it doesnt make sense for her trying to cover for the two killer boys because in the end, who would've guessed that the chief of police would be a literal son of a b*tch and put GJW in jail knowing it wasnt him who murdered the girls? Also, i kinda want to believe that this part is different in the novel, its quite funny that someone randomly goes into a barn and do some painting there, another one is also there for God knows why and witnesses a murder, another one brings her other lover there to make out with him even tho it should've been the most undercover secret ever as they're both cheating on their partners. Like i said in my previous comment, i mostly looked at my phone and relied on my korean while watching, only looking at the screen when i thought something important was going on so i might've missed a thing or two but it wasnt exciting enough so. And pleaseeeee, if someone has that much blood coming out of their head and stayed in the same position for that long... THEY WILL DIE! No chance that she would wake up just to be killed again with a shovel, seriously that was lame.

(not murders because i believe the other girl is alive) And no disrespect but the way Go Bo Gyeol speaks cause my ears bleed. She really needs to take some diction classes. I'm not saying this because she has a lisp, i think she's rolling words in her mouth (idk if thats a saying in english). As an actor, she needs to have a more clear pronounciation.
I tried to finish this, i really did. It has many elements that i love; winter scenery, slow burn romance, fun side characters, slow pace etc. But the constant flashbacks got extremely annoying. It feels like they couldnt come up with a wide plot to make a whole season of drama so they brought the memories of various people together just to fill the time. But the thing is, the stories arent interesting at all. The characters have a small conversation and bam! we're going on a trip down to memory lane. Why does everything has to relate to the past, it's not a psychological drama after all? I'd like to see what's going to happen in their current and future lives. Dropped it at ep11. Maybe there'll come a time when i'll enjoy this drama because the general vibe really fits my taste.
