did the screenwriter have a cuckold fetish
premium cuckold tae-wook … i’m sorry but at some point i genuinely started wondering if the writer just enjoyed watching this man get cucked because HOW many times can one husband watch his wife be emotionally tangled up with another man and still be standing there like “that’s my wife” PLEASE stand up
hye-ran is DEF one of the most unlikeable female leads i’ve watched and weirdly thats one of the reasons i enjoyed her. she’s selfish, insanely ambitious, emotionally unavailable and will choose her career over basically anybody. she’s pretty much the kind of character they usually give to a male lead in old melodramas except this time the genders are reversed and tae-wook gets to be the pathetic obsessive simp suffering over a woman who gives him crumbs. unfortunately very much my niche
BUT if you’re gonna put actual romance between hye-ran and tae-wook in the story then i needed hye-ran to give that man a LITTLE more affection back 😭 i’m not asking her to suddenly become some soft devoted wife because that would literally ruin her character, but come on. throw him a bone sometimes. half the reason their few mutual moments hit so hard is because she spends most of the drama acting like loving her husband would kill her
also some of the comments acting scandalized by the cheating” are kinda funny to me because this is very obviously an adult melodrama about grown ass people making terrible decisions and ruining their own lives. if ur mainly used to fluffy romcoms then yeah this probably feels like psychological warfare idk what to tell you ..and no i dont think it glorifies cheating either, everybody involved is miserable as hell because of it
definitely not for everyone. morally questionable woman + obsessive simp husband + marriage from hell… yeah unfortunately i had a great time
