Honestly, this feels such a comforting drama rn. I too had many similar emotions and experiences like Lin Zhixia while growing up. This drama healed something in me today.
you don't have to feel sorry for who you are or if you are a little smarter than others as long as you are grounded. People will envy you and you may think that they are mocking you or expecting your downfall but that only tells how strong you are . You are like a bellwether to others.

But I don't wanna be just a bellwether....I too want genuine friendships where we study together and hang out together just how Lin Zhixia wants - BUT whether things turn out good or bad while you take your first step towards friendships, it's all just an indispensable puzzle piece of your life.

One more thing I realised in my life early on was....You just need to be you and be grounded, people who stay will stay nevertheless. You don't have to fit in, people who want to understand you, and would want to accompany you, will be there for you.

it's not actually about making ML a common enemy. Sometimes second lead treats the FL so so unrealistically well that people feel for their genuineness. The way they yearn so respectfully and give all their love and genuineness is what makes them attractive in viewers eyes.
However I must say these days people shower the 2nd leads with a little too much love even when they are red flags, toxic or controlling. In that case, we can say that they truly take male lead as common enemy.

Yeah hu yitian is a nice guy irl. I liked him in various variety shows....it's just that when it comes to his dramas, I have a hard time accepting his aloof and rude roles. He always takes those yearning roles where he's also rude to the FL over one thing or the other, creating endless misunderstandings and hurting feelings. The only time ever I felt his role was good before was in DT. Appledog's time.
I'm on ep 2 and It's safe to say that he has a nice role here so far. Not like those roles where his miscommunications cause misunderstandings.

well HYT didn't sit well with me ever.....It's just personal opinion but I didn't liked his acting and role in the past. His roles are always secretly red flag ones. And that's why I didn't wanted to start this at all bcuz I knew I will eventually drop it bcuz of HYT but I was curious about TXW's role so I just started it out casually, until I saw the child actors and I'm totally hooked to their pre junior-high story.
The girl playing the young TXW has totally won my heart!!!!!!!! I wish I could know her name and see more of her works in future. I hope this child get more projects in the future. She's totally killing it

the young main leads are so damn interesting and good at acting. I felt more engrossed when those child actors were acting as compared to the adults

yeah cuz hu yitian has a major history in acting in genius-aloof high school ML cliche....I hope too that it doesn't end that way. I absolutely would hate it that way
