I love that we got a scene of Daddy Grace and Mata's mom talking and supporting each other. It's really believable that they're friends, and I am touched by the expansive family that this story has portrayed. Mata and her family really bring so much light to all the people around them. I truly love Mata and Pennueng as much as everyone else seems to, and I think I may love Mata and her family even more. I will deeply miss this story when it ends this week (until I do a rewatch lol), and I hope that we see more and more stories like these that show queer families in such a loving way.
mmkay, but why does this child Khao have a whole ass job as a caretaker? like, I'm glad she is getting paid for her labor (I think I heard Pi saying something about paying her), but why is she laboring like this?? It's one thing for kids to learn how to pitch in and learn family/cultural practices, but Khao is literally working a full-time job watching Lalin/Suay all day and night!
That moment was golden! Mata keeps showing us how sharp and emotionally intelligent she is. I'm a lil worried…
Right?! I even think Pennueng's dad thought it was an accident.
Also so excited to see how this plays out. Im wondering if Penneung's whole family about to get dazzled and healed by Mata and her family the way that Penneung was.
As a 50-year-old father, I cried a lot with Daddy Grace and his parent.
@bubbleworld yes, very much this. Some emotional nuance that seems rare in most drama depictions of parenting, and even more so in how queer characters are portrayed. The series is giving so much more depth to the queer family in this story than I generally see, especially in this type of show. definitely getting me in my emotions. I hope its the sign of more stories like these to come.
I liked the new eps so much, they were fun, cute but also heartfelt! ep 14 had too much Tri but im happy knowing…
That's the exact same thought I had about ep 14 lol. The episodes that focus more on Mata and Penneung and Mata's family have been the best ones so far, for me! It always feels like a drag when Tri and Pang get more screen time. Although I do love Mata and Riri shutting down Tri, those parts are fun.
I loved that Mata did not believe Tri for even one second. I like that she's smart. She was very honest with Tri…
That moment was golden! Mata keeps showing us how sharp and emotionally intelligent she is. I'm a lil worried though, it looked like getting so directly rejected like that motivated Tri to get more aggressive. Him sending those photos to Penneung's dad was so gross.

Same, I loved this scene so much! I had hope that the story would take us to the point where Grace and Penneung were commiserating on their father pains, but this scene really delivered! I think Penneung asked Grace directly about why she is trying to reconcile with her dad because Penneung sees Grace's heart and wisdom and knows that he can learn from her! Penneung seeking out advice and then quietly thanking Grace for sharing her experience was truly a lovely and mature moment. And the way Grace was so clear in her reasons for trying to reconcile with her father. I may not personally have made the same decision about someone who was so violent, but what's most important is that I understand, believe, and really sympathize with Grace's reasoning. Such good acting and writing!
Happy there is 21 episodes, but a little sad because i feel there might be a break up between the leads,i feel…
I have hope that the spoilers for the next ep are a fake out and that Penneung means he's not going to date for long because he plans on getting married soon! Based on the convo Penneung had with his doctor friend when Mata was away, I think Penneung already thought through the long game when he told Mata how he feels. He was worried about how his family would treat Mata, but it seems like he knows he cares about her too much to let her go, and he trusts that Mata will stick through. And Mata has shown she can hold her own! She is kind but also firm and direct when she read's Tri's scheming and shuts him down. I was also so touched that even when Mata's dad was hurt and operated on, she still had the presence of heart to check in on Penneung and comfort him. I'm really hoping that this couple will stay as consistent as they have been and make it through the drama without the classic pre-ending break up. We shall see!
I don't think I've ever cried so much at a stabbing/hospital scene that popped up out of nowhere into a drama. The stabbing was quite random, but was effective at pulling out the emotions that Grace's parents have about her. And watching the ray of sunshine and love that is Grace get hurt was too much, that was painful to see! Then Mata and Pennueng talking about the magic shop in Grace's heart. The tears were truly flowing.
I had asked this same question a while back. A kind soul answered my comment and said Aunt Vee's actor's name is Kokkorn Benjathikoon (āļāļāļāļĢ āđāļāļāļāļēāļāļīāļāļļāļĨ). Hoping to see her name around more, and not sure why she is so hard to find.

oh, and Aunt Vee, Daddy Grace, and Penneung got each other on speed dial now??? Penneung is a part of the family already, it's a wrap. This show is still going strong 11 episodes in. a blessing.
first of all, Daddy Grace and family rolling up on the creep who burned Mata and then essentially playing the Sailor Guardians but they're drag kings: outstanding, show stopping, spectacular. And then Aunt Vee pulling out the (fake) gun looking like she did not come to play! Love that we found out almost as a side note that Mata was able to get her house because Aunt Jolie is a legal wiz and sued someone that tried stealing Mata's work. (I was definitely wondering how Mata got that house, not gonna lie, the drama barely shows her ever working) This family is everything to me. I'm glad we got so much of them these last couple episodes. I still want more!
i have been loving all of mata's interactions with her family! I also teared up at the bracelet scene with grandma.…
Oh yea, grace eating those buns brought the tears for sure! and then grace going outside so no one would hear her crying, ugh! the romance is super cute, but I think I love the family scenes even more
