This is a great step forward for BL

This is a BL that doesn't follow the same formula as all the others. BL love can be in all genres and I'm glad they were creative enough to showcase this. This was my BL of 2020 solely because it was different, and it didn't have those corny moments that made the other shows hard to watch at times. The Philippines have really been crushing this category. Lastly, the twist at the end will have you wanting more. You can stop reading now at this point I'm just trying to reach my 500 character limit. There's not much I can say without putting spoilers, this show is just really good so do yourself a favor and watch it.

Dangerously Underrated series

Not only is the cast attractive, but the story is very well written, and the music is awesome. I love the fact this is not one of those sappy BL shows that we have all seen. It is mature and can get dark, and that is what I love about it. While it is refreshing to have shows like BLs, rehashing the same plot limits them, and that in and of itself is a bad thing. I have binged a lot of BL stories in 2020, and for the most part, they all followed the same storyline. This and Cheat were the only ones I watched so far that dared to be different, and boy did it pay off.

A lot of nudity in this movie, but it does not take away from the plot or acting. The main character is very hot, but thankfully this isn't the only thing that makes you invested in him. This movie reminds me of fuccbois, but IMO done better. This is because the character is more fleshed out. We have a backstory of how his life is and how he was in the situation he was in. What I like most is how the sexual scenes don't distract from how dark and depressing the situation the main character is in. Most of the movies I've seen that try to tell this type of story have the sexual scenes create a dark fantasy that makes you want to be in that situation, instead of what actually is a horror situation. This movie does not do that. When the explicit scenes come you are worried for the characters because you understand what's at stake for them. The acting was solid and I look forward to seeing what is next for them.

Type is by far the worse BL protagonist I've seen, and Tharn deserves better. Fortunately from what I've seen, he has improved and this show is far better than the previous one. What makes this hard to watch is the first show and how badly it handled sexual assault and abuse. Then there is the portrayal of Tharn, who I feel deserves so much better, but for some reason is content with being with someone like Type. No one should feel they deserve someone like Type or as possessive as Cir. Those types of relationships end badly and should not be promoted.
