I believe there are many factors: - wuxia being more of a niche nowadays; - the industry in crisis; - the pace being slow in the era of vertical fast dramas; - many still prejudiced against yy because of fireworks of my heart; and maybe more.
I have this impression for some time that long tail might be the new norm for long dramas. because people dont trust in the industry anymore and everybody brains are messed up by short videos, they should wait for full reviews before investing their time and/or money, with very few exceptions.

good thing initial numbers were good and ads are strong too, it shows the issue doesn't lie on the actors' ability of attracking audience, so it shouldnt affect their resources.

people nowadays seems to only like stories where the resolution comes fast, there cant have a long development 😮‍💨 alas no can do

it started off good but the hype is dying 😔 not a flop, but not good results as expected
my hope now is that the final reviews create a good long tail effect

one thing that I reeeeally like about zhan zhao sword is that it seems well balanced with yy
saw some reuters of his next drama and not only did they give him an oversized armor but also a weapon almost as tall as him and too thick. its good when the team pay attention to it.

I actually believe the issue here is a lack of build up. there is barely any "oh!! so this is it!!" moments, no twists to keep you on the verge. this would increase the emotion by a lot
