The ml didn’t even know who is she or anything about her lossing power...he was just taking care of her out…
dearest, come with me: this is not just an opinion, this is a pattern in c-fantasy. there is a high number of dramas where the fl is supposed to be the strongest being but something happens to her and she has to hide her powers, or she loses it, or she can't use it anymore. it is just like the mute asian in hollywood - at first you think "mmm it is an interesting storytelling resource", until you realize how common it is and how it is a symptom of racism. the "powerful female lead loses her power and has to be taken care of by the strong male lead" is a symptom of misogyny, its a resource to make you think you are watching a modern, a more progressive female character, but in fact they are keeping the old structure of weak woman / strong man. and you can regonize this issue and still enjoy the story. as an example, I loved "the legend of shen li", but it had the same issue. the only reason I still gave shen li a high rating was because the story was much better, so it didn't annoy me that much.
its an okay drama, nothing extraordinary. but the fact that its another story of a powerful fl losing her powers and having to be taken care of by the ml lowered my score and pissed me off
particularly using too many cuts to create thriller with that slow zoom in, the score that seems to have come out of a 2000s telenovela, with those awful sound effects. the production looks exquisite, but the way the director builds emotion and tells story is so outdated and tacky. also a little confusing. same issues he had in his previous dramas.
