This is a spoiler from the novel - he went to the special forces to try to be more deserving of her, but her parents are linked to it. so her mother used it to make song yan almost die in there and be dismissed as a deserter. then he became a firefighter. xu qin and her brother doesn't know about it, but her father did find out afterwards. it's when xu qi finds out about that that she cut ties with her parents
6 eps finished.I like most of the changes from the novel. I really liked ZBB's character addition at first, but…
Maybe I should add this: I didn't like the novel at my first read. I didn't think much of it. Similar to You Are My Glory. But as I waited for the drama, seeing all the reuters and the anticipation from other fans, I went back to read it. Then I started to notice points made by the author, I started to understand better the character. That was when I realized how complex and real the characters are. How they change their mind, how they hurt themselves and the others. I reminds me a lot of My Lovely Sam Soon in this. It's the kind of story you can only enjoy when you search for the characters' nuances
I like most of the changes from the novel. I really liked ZBB's character addition at first, but now I'm kinda frustrated cuz he only showed up to showcase more of Song Yan's trauma without much more. The characters presentation was one of the best I've seen in a long time, we can perfectly understand each character personality and their relationships by now. And all actors are on point 👌 Leads' relationship was really well care too - we already know about their puppy love being a escape for both of them, and his anger being justifiable, her low self-esteam making her lower herself for his love, and now their state of no enemies nor friends. I really like this kind of relationship where you can't tell if it's they're better together or not. This blind and sick need of each other when they can't name a good reason for liking each other. They just like because they like. And they work well together because thats how it is. This is very realistic, that's how true relationships are. You aren't necessarily the best people for each other but you decided that you will be. Can't wait for more of this
Oh, directing is on point. Action scenes are superb!
I love the 3 male leads of this drama however...Episode 1 and 2 have me a bit disappointed? The opening felt very…
Song Yan was a rebel when young. Then he got to experience the hard life of being a grown up. Specially when trying to be better to try to get back to Xu Qin. So what is left from his rebelness is the strong spirit to fight for what he wants. He wants to save people? The rules aren't so important. He wants to break apart from Xu Qin? She can eat up her indecisiness. He want to get back together with her? Whatever people think.
can someone change yangyang with wang churan position back at the list casts?
we're not getting into the Chinese fandom billing crazy, we're here just to enjoy two talented people acting together , please don't make a deal out of it
fu wenying piss me off so much. can you imagine your mother burning your father and your house down and almost taking you too and then a seemly kind family takes you in but turns your life in an eternal hell of rules and perfection and does everything to end your hope of happiness? she's the worst kind of selfish btch, the most disgusting type of human
No, but really... Why do Chinese writers ALWAYS come up with the "they knew each other back when they were kids"…
I do believe some people are willing to love despite anything. Specially, Song Yan is someone that was able to see through Xu Qin since the beginning (like in the scene he understood she wanted to be called Xu Qin and not Meng Qin), so he knows she's not a bad person. He also knows her family situation and why she's the way she is, he understands her better than anyone.
I'm a Xu Qin and Song Yan defender. They can wrong as much as they want to put out their frustration. My babies suffered too much, they deserve to get it out of their chest ✋

I don't think the writing is lousy at all. It all makes sense. The characters aren't simple or fickle, the situations aren't simple either. There's nothing rushed and the clichés are very well written, it all makes sense.
Maybe you're not in the mood for this kind of dramatic slow burn, but this has been very good so far
