The romance is shown by glances and sometimes by proximity or interaction. Pairs walk next to each other or sit next to each other outside the classroom. The interest is there but it isn't the focus. Even Ms Sang and Li Ming wouldn't be so emotionally at odds with each other if there was no spark between them. At the beginning of ep. 13, at his Father's apartment, she snaps a picture of the photo of Lie Ming and his Father. Sang's reaction when she came upon the female teachers were sitting around Lei Ming.

The rich kid has his own demons and it's similar to Lei Ming in that he craves approval from his Father. But he has grown up very twisted. Watched Ep. 11 unsubbed. I thought that in the long run, it would have been better to find a way to connect with him. Couldn't understand what was being said, but his parents may divorce.

I don't know what piqued your interest, but a similar teacher helping a bunch of students is The Heart of Genius (2022). At least for the first 9 episodes.

The female student in the 2008 lecture is the reason Lei Ming quit teaching? Is that the falling student at the end of ep. 6?

I feel that this is more gritty than GTO.. I remember from seeing bits of GTO here in Tokyo that it had more a comedic and over the top feeling. Haven't seen any of DZ. I enjoy this show so much that I've watched the last two episodes un-subbed and still enjoyed it.

I think that Ren was really saying that she doesn't want to be controlled by Ning. He unilaterally decided that she was safer leaving Dodge and waiting in the Ning Mansion. It also showed that he didn't trust her ability to control her feelings when confronted by LTG.. An assumption more accurate with his insecurity. He is kinda right in that LTG clearly will be a major thorn for Ren. He is toxic.

Would that mean that LTG is her end game? I hope not.
