Probably start with saving the first victims and maybe nipping the Father in the bud. But the early time may imply a second chance with helping her parents and his brother. But as it played out the first time, there was growth in the characters. Not sure that it would be worth losing that. Perhaps a stronger connection with the ML's Mother. Have her stay in town and help raise the ML?

Student protesters would be tarred by being labeled leftist and communists. She was the girlfriend of the brother. It would lessen the impact of the torture of the younger brother if she had any communist affiliation. Taking the Kwang-ju protests as an example, the protest were framed by the Ruling Military Regime as a communist disturbance. In the US that label was used against anti-war and organized labor demonstrations.

The final scene leaves a sense of comfort that everyone is left well and a sense of loss that this is ending.

It was fine until ep. 18 and when Xiaoyun saw Xu Tian it became gripping. The ML Xu Xian here and Xu Tian in the subtitles is not so much autistic but suffers from loss. Some say PTSD. This drama is about love and loss and connections. Take a peek at ep. 18 and it might help you decide. I'm re-watching it and there is a reason why I post comments here after finishing it.
