Good points. I don't think that I have a tiktok app either, but it works for me. I think that like The Prisoner of Beauty's Xiao Qiao, even as consort, Ning Jiyi ,there would be turmoil that would cause more trouble than not. Look at how many deaths occurred leading up to the end. Lots of angry people.. And we may remember the kin of slain supporters of the Crown Prince. Lots of potential instability. Then you have Pei, even as a legitimate Emperor, who has very blood stained hands. And his Ning Jiyi, is not only from the last dynasty, but has deceived the court and nation with her true gender. Alone, one part could be forgiven, but all together, maybe not. Just my thoughts on why the ending was what it was. Thank you.
I am conflicted with this drama. The FL is too weak, too soft, and spineless. Instead of she will be served as…
She grew stronger and wiser. She deserved to be ruler because of her innate sense of concern for her subjects. A wise ruler that knows when to stay her hand. And the extra scene shows that the execution wasn't permanent. See PKennedy's post above.
I'm sorry, but the ending just didn’t make sense. If she was going to reveal her true identity as a woman, she…
Being a woman wasn't the real reason why he had to be executed, Switched at birth, she was really the heir to the last dynasty. Exposure would cause further turmoil in a scramble to succeed her with a new legitimate ruler. jczf1994; I hope you don't mind; From the original Portuguese; The final sentence that the protagonist says is horrible! This drama was extremely average, the acting was good, what was really average was the script and direction! The choices of how the story followed in circles and the decisions of the protagonists were extremely childish and predictable! The plot "save the protagonist pretending that we are brothers" here made them seem like brothers and everything after that seemed weird!
after finishing this - painfully so - I can see why this got low scores - it is just a horrible crafted story.I…
launev; Good points. I think that what writers did had an internal consistency that really didn't help. From early on, the FL considered the 2ML but always told herself that the feeling wasn't there. (And later said that to the 2ML) Even if at the same time she was reluctant to admit that her chemistry with the ML was there. So that kept her from the 2ML and dragged their story on and on. Prince Rui and Shujun was the romance that they couldn't show with either the ML or 2Ml during the drama. A sop for those wanting romance. And an important reason for the ML to keep the FL in the dark (Which he revealed early on) was his fear that once she knew, she couldn't let go. That she'd go full Tangli. Which they briefly tried to show her doing near the end. Considering how much control women in those days had over their destiny, with arranged marriages the norm. Groom snatching is a small step in showing the other side. A very small step. I don't mind her getting to choose her mate like that. I wonder why they didn't show clearly who stabbed Tangli at the end? It was supposed to be that she couldn't face falling in love with her Father's killer, so she stabbed herself in the end. She couldn't live with him but couldn't live without him. But that was never made clear.
Didn’t like the ending. Felt like FL should’ve ended up with 2ML. He seemed way more into her than the ML…
That's why the 2ML had so much screen time. The ML couldn't be overtly romantic with the FL for most of the drama. And he couldn't be as handsome/charismatic as the 2ML. Would have bothered the censors, I suppose.
I think the director has a weird aesthetic of beauty when he cast the actor for Wei Yan and Peter Ho for young…
The actor for Wei Yan is very good at portraying intelligent complex characters with a dangerous charisma more than making up for not having idol looks. He was terrific in the second season of Weaving a Tale of Love.
Lol I trust that it will be one happy ending. 😉 at least for the leads
It starts during the Napoleonic Wars in Spain. Sharpe is a 'mustang' an enlisted NCO who saves the Duke of Wellington which starts his slow hard journey to success. He starts as the new but seasoned officer of a small band of sharpshooters that are not impressed with him. There are at least even seasons.
