I want it to come out too. I've watched every show where he's the ML, some more than once. I've started trying…
I also can’t rewatch a drama once I already know the plot, so I usually just watch Tan Jianci’s scenes, except for UTS and AYS, which I’ve rewatched many times. I also couldn’t finish LMLMV, it was a bit too fluffy for my taste. Same with dramas where he’s a supporting character: I watch the first few episodes to get an idea of the plot, then mostly focus on his scenes.
Happy that LHF finally updated their Weibo. Rumors say it might drop on 5.20. I just wish he had time to record an episode of Hi6 with Wang Churan for promotion, but he’s still filming this month, so there probably won’t be any promotional appearances.
Did anyone else think of that pig farm episode from Are You Safe in this commercial?
I really loved AYS, it was entertaining and hilarious, and I wish we had a season 2. The CoL brat was annoying at the beginning, and at times I even had to pause and ask, Is this really Tan Jianci? Each of his characters feels distinct, he is truly capable of bringing them to life in completely different ways.
Have you seen his Xiang Liu / Fang Feng Bei in Lost You Forever? That's generally considered his break out costume…
As much as I want to see Winner is King, I'm actually glad it wasn’t released back then. People would’ve just said he got famous because of his role in a BL drama, not because of his talent.
In an interview with CCTV, Tan Jianci said the movie is in Cantonese and that a Mandarin version will be available. His character is an ordinary Guangdong police officer, with a unique core and trauma, a character who keeps moving forward despite his wounds. https://weibo.com/1798539915/QBvPeEY7n
About "Empty Gun": the movie is entirely in Cantonese, and a Mandarin version will also be available. He plays an ordinary Guangdong police officer, who has a unique core and trauma, a person who keeps moving forward despite his wounds.
For the topic of choosing scripts based on popularity and critical acclaim: "popularity can no longer be an absolute value, only a reference. Ultimately, it should start from the core of the story and the characters themselves, rather than piling up plots and serving only the purpose of generating buzz and viewership. In the next decade, I want to strive to become an actor that everyone will want to watch again and again, that's my goal"
He also talked about AI : "AI can imitate an actor's face and voice, but it can't replicate the actor's state of mind, soul, or creative intentions during the performance. It can't even replicate some of the actor's flaws."
