SYR's mother is making me mad. I know she wanted to tell him to not piss Wanning off by saying that their current lifestyle comes from her support, but she legit just ignored all the work SYR put in. If SYR hadn't done well in his exams and been able to go to court, Wanning wouldn't have even known he existed and they wouldn't have her support. It's also even more maddening because XFF was the one who supported SYR the most when he was prepping for his exams.
WHEN will the father find out about his wife’s affair and the miscarriage of her lover’s child? I think knowing…
Yes, I hope the drama does not gloss over that. It would be stupid if the father didn't know about all of the horrid things she's done. It would also definitely help finally get revenge for JL and the father needs to be punished for being blinded by his wife.
What else is everyone watching? Any recommendations now that this show is almost over…
I'm watching the Tale of Rose and Jade's Fateful Love, which are both currently airing. I recommend Scent of Time. It has a similar feel to The Double in that it is also a story where something bad happens to FL and she has sort of a 'second chance' and WXY is also the ML.
Yea, they aren't directly related so lineage-wise, they aren't as close. It's also pretty typical in historical dramas to be at odds with those who aren't your direct family. Another thing is that JL is ruining all their plans, so that's also why they are trying to get back at JL.
I don't understand the fate of the stepmother. did the father believe his wife have killed his daughter and first…
I think it's implied that he does. I'm pretty sure he expelled the stepmother and we see a shot of her maid getting pulled. I think he's also just in disbelief that she also killed his first wife, so maybe he hasn't exactly fully accepted that yet.
I think she said to third uncle like 'XFF saved me somehow I see her father as my father' something like that,…
Yea, she did say that, but right when they rescue Magistrate Xue and corner Feng Yutang, she directly calls her Magistrate Xue 'father'. And I believe her third uncle was at the scene when it happened. Maybe he didn't hear her or something.
Am i missing something or third uncle never bat an eye about her identity? I don't think the people in her hometown…
Yea, I don't think I saw anything about her third uncle questioning her identity. I'm not sure what happened, but it is a bit weird that it was never brought up since there were multiple times when she wasn't discreet about her identity.
What exactly will shuran gain if she destroys JL?😭😭She's doing too much to be honest. Great actress though!
She's afraid that JL would somehow expose what really went down, which is she acted like JL killed her baby even though she purposefully fell down the stairs. She's also honestly jealous of JL and her success, so there's that too. And she knows that JL doesn't like her, so even more reason to get rid of JL before JL gets rid of her.
guys plz explain the princess again m on ep 21 ...someone down there tried to explain me but really couldn't understand…
She first punishes the eldest Li son since he was in charge of the gold mine and it was illegal since it was an imperial gold mine. But now, JL and XH know about the gold mine and could bring it up to the emperor and get them in trouble, There is specific emphasis on JL since the princess hates JL and wants her dead. She then pours Chancellor Li tea and overfills it, basically as punishment for him since he was working with his son on the gold mine thing, so it's also his fault that things didn't go right. She implies that because of his loyal service all these years that he isn't punished as harshly. He uses the fact that JL is bringing back a prisoner to the capital, which is a big offense as a way to bring down JL and the princess is then only somewhat satisfied. She still makes her maid pour even more hot tea because she is still pissed. She says "Grand Chancellor, you must drink the tribute tea when it's hot" basically implying that he needs to get take advantage of the situation and make sure JL doesn't end up well. Chancellor Li is about to drink the tea, but the princess takes the tea and throws it out. I'm thinking that's just to show the power she has over Chancellor Li, where she can get him to do anything.
