not sure if it's because i skipped the parents scenes but i don't understand why Chen Lu Zhou needs to go abroad
CLZ's adopted family doesn't want him to compete with their biological son. If he goes abroad, he has less of a prescence in China. This makes it easier for the biological son to establish a foothold in his own career later on.
Cna someone explain what the 7th dish meant in episode 7? they brought out six dishes and Han Yan brought out…
The 7th dish represents the person who places 3rd in the imperial examination. 探花 is the term and the second character literally means 'flower' so the flower represents it. Han Yan justifies its inclusion because there are already dishes that represent the person who places 1st and the person who places 2nd in the imperial examination.
I'm up to date on ep 12 and they still haven't stopped
In one of the previous episodes, something happens where the FL is supposedly incriminated, but it was actually one of those girls. The first madam lu doesn't stop disliking the FL, but I think she starts realizing that the FL isn't that bad.
And up to ep 12, Chen Xue herself doesn't harm the FL, but in ep 12, one of CXs servants does harm the FL, but without CX's knowledge.
This is one of my favorite types of dramas, where the set-up isn't just a set-up and has a deeper role in the themes of the drama. I really liked how the drama incorporated the set-up of the opposing positions of the ML and FL on lying and deception to create a deeper conversation.
Guys I have a question, from the behaviour of Su RongQing do you guys also think he’s been reborn as well, like…
I think that there is a possibility that he has been reborn, but I'm not exactly sure either. His behavior does seem a bit sus to me.
I'm thinking that the reason he killed her even though she saved him was because he was either unable to put down the fact that his entire family got sentenced because of her brother who was the emperor or because there's a mastermind behind him that was telling him to kill her.
I haven't read the novel either, so this is just based on observations from watching the drama.
Thoughts on the final episodes: ● Shen Yurong is such a pathetic and delusional man. I've hated him from the…
I agree with all the your points above. And you're so right about the fact that Chinese historical dramas always have to do something to leave you depressed. They almost always have to go and kill a character or two, when they could still be alive.
Can someone explain about consort Xian like how she died, if emperor care about her then why he didn't punish…
Consort Li plotted to kill Consort Xian by saying there was a disturbance of evil spirits in the imperial harem, so the Office of Imperial Diviner went to exorcise it. She probably died because they said there was an evil spirit in her. I'm not sure why the emperor didn't punish Consort Li though, but I think that he actually loves her.
oh shoot that would be so evil of him (although unsurprising) 😬 i thought he might be trying to find out if…
Yea, I initially thought that he might be trying to find out if XFF had used a herb to fake Wanning's pregnancy. The one thing that makes me think it might be to get rid of the child is that he seems a lot calmer around Wanning now, even though when he discovered she was pregnant, she was not happy.
