My first negative comment – the weakest link in this drama is character BXL. The actress is a walking beauty for sure. But her acting, well, it’s what we call “facial paralysis”. Enough said, roast me

I feel for Yuan. His internal conflict of feelings toward ZY is eating him alive. Either he actually has feelings for ZY or he longs for his lost love through her because she is a descendant of his lost love and they resemble each other. He does not seem to know and it’s killing him (figurative speaking). I hope he finds happiness at the end or at least find peace.

@Enigma05 I hope you don't assume that people who rate 10 are all fans of a particular actor or actress as it seems like you imply here. We all have different tastes, different opinions. You may find this script is dated but It doesn't mean others who have different views are wrong. Some may find this drama is boring as h*ll but it's one of a few c-dramas that I watch every ep without skipping scenes. Same go with other dramas that are so loved by others and rated sky high, but I dropped them dead left and right.

Ah, the way he put his coat on her, the way he fixed her hair, the way he looked at her, so tender and sensual. The scene wouldn’t complete without her waking up suddenly and them staring at each other – beautiful visuals, beautiful cinematography, beautiful un-spoken feelings. RM has the most arguably beautiful pair of eyes I have ever seen.

Sweet, tender moments of our couple by the lake or small gestures from ML toward FL make me like the show even more, aside from unique, intriguing story line, and great acting. Romance progresses slowly, subtly, yet steady as it should be due to the dynamic of their relationship. Romance between master and disciple is a thorny issue even in ancient time.
As the story is unfolded, even with many other side characters, they and their stories all revolve around the leads; do not create any distraction. I hope the story keeps its momentum to the end.
On a side note, re-watching in Netflix is surreal with better resolution and translation. I just hope they added more than just 3 eps at a time.

Finished eps 11 & 12 and I admire the heroine even more. She is feisty, bold and “street smart” I must say. She did things that she thought was right without worrying about consequences, like “don’t think, just do” mentality. She came up with solutions that even the mighty Shi Ying didn’t even think of.
And, Funny seeing how she caught Shi Ying off guard several times. He almost revealed his feelings toward her. Love the subtle romance between them.

What hype? Unlike other popular dramas, this was broadcasted without warning or promotion. Am I missing something?

I meant I'll watch what will be available on Netflix US. Hope they have up to date eps. But I doubt it. They have only 4 eps of Hidden Love so far

The plot thickens. The relationship of the leads progresses slowly, logically, and poetically, thank to beautiful, artistic shots. ML went through great length protecting FL. And FL was smart and avoided misunderstanding over ML's intention. Some think FL's character is annoying. I think not. She looks and acts the part. I would be more annoyed seeing a 30s looking actress has to act like a teenager. Her character may not be refined and well educated as others, but she’s smart, remember how she tamed the beast? The ML sees it in her – that’s all matter.
Anyway, Can't wait till Friday to binge watch the whole thing again in Netflix

That coronation scene – walking in slow motion with his white robe flowing in the wind? The visual is surreal, almost criminal. Is he even human? Don’t answer me that. LOL

Yes, Netflix is not stupid to buy license for shows that not many people watch, especially shows that are currently airing. There are several c-dramas are airing now. But Netflix chooses Hidden Love and this show - that speaks volumes

Ah, beauty and the beast moments in ep 8. I laughed so hard. Our heroine single handedly tamed the beast. LOL

And so I thought international fans were not that toxic like in c-drama and k-drama worlds. I was dead wrong. It’s kind of entertaining reading colorful comments. More often than not, these comments seem to try to piss people off, try to stir up fights, bashing dramas, attacking cast, sometimes at personal level. It seems worse for this drama as the rating dropped like a rock. Even though I never watch a drama based on rating in MDL, but this is so blatant. What on earth did the ML do that he encounters this much hate?

The OST is dope!

Ah, the dance scene – the cinematography and choreography were perfect. The beautiful dancers were like fairies. And the dance between our leads was unexpected and dramatically beautiful.
Some complained about the lack of chemistry. I don’t think we should expect chemistry at this point, at least not yet. ML has a soft spot for FL for sure. But it was because he was touched by her devotion toward him.
