Some may feel pity towards Ye Xian, me included i have to admit. Both in novel and drama, GJZ would never be his as that is the narrative. The drama spiced up his character as part of dramatizing an adaptation. And the actor did h*ll of a job to bring Ye Xian to life. The wedding met the funeral was just cold. Then seeing the couple the next day was even colder. He didn't even have enough time to mourn. But the plot has to move along, other characters have to be dealt with. At the end of the day, he is not a male lead. I just hope the drama gives him a HE
In a good way, the comments in this board hold high moral standard regarding Ye Xian' s behaviors. Whereas in a recent popular drama, the guy abused his woman emotionally to no end. Didnt matter how hard she tried to hide from him, to the end of the earth he stll found her. He even wanted to kill his son. I wouldn't give her antis much credit for the low rating. Ren Min had 2 dramas that just ended, one was fl and other was special lead but she has lots of scenes toward the end. Both have score of 7 or more last time i checked. As others said, idol dramas tend to have low rating. 5.6 is decent enough.

It seems like you fault Ren Min. As for what i said, I did not say that there is no good kiss scene. And i font fault the artists. As i dont find it fair to pin it to just one in these scenes.
Some complaints about kiss scenes. Well, I wouldn't expect too much from the intimate or kiss scenes in C-dramas. Most of the time, they hardly qualify as actual kisses. Except for a few dramas, most I see are hand or arm movements, specific head positioning, and distant shots to mimic a kiss. When they do show a close-up, it’s usually just two pairs of paralyzed lips pressed together with little to no movement. It's about censorship i guess. I won't fault artists for that.

At least where i live, traffic typically slows down and yields for funeral processions. The scene was a way to dramatize the adaptation, which was already dramatized more than enough, but such poor taste.
The drama turns Ye Xian into a kid throwing tantrums. Then Gu Lan, who was a despicable character who met a tragic end in the novel, is given a redemption arc in the drama and becoming Ye Xian's love interest maybe? Its like reinventing a recipe. Just borrow the main ingredients then cook a complete different dish

I have to dig into fans comments to find the links to studio sites. Took me awhile to find Ren Min and WinWin sudio sites. I just found Ci Sha studio site, still have not been able to find Zuo Ze studio. You can see bunch of pics on X or supertopic sites, but they are mostly fan edits
